Now you're just some QB that I used to know
The police are currently inside Aaron Hernandez's house, presumably to execute a search warrant in connection with a person found murdered in his rental car, or something like that. No live coverage, ESPN has already paid people to talk about Lebron and Tim Duncan, so if you want live updates your best bet is twitter and this thread.

Bedard's twitter is saying that there are like, 10 cruisers outside his house and 2 young men have been taken into custody from his home.

Well, at least he didn't have blood on his suit. Right? Right...? :(

It's not even a story yet

It hasn't been said about the 2 men being taken into custody. Just that they were driven away. I don't know how a search procedure works but is it possible that the police just drove them away from the scene because they just happened to be there and had nothing to do with the search/case?

An NFL starter on one of the most popular teams in the NFL being connected to a homicide and having warrants executed on his house is pretty big news.

No. If they're being taken away from the premises as part of a warrant its very likely they're being taken in for questioning. If they were unrelated to the warrant they'd just be detained on scene until they finished doing their thing and released from there.

I'd guess that standard procedure for something like that is more along the lines of "you two go stand outside" or something, but I'm just guessing.

Eh, I'm with Declan on this one. This Hernandez story could end up being nothing. The NBA finals with LeBron in an elimination game is a huge story.

You're right, it is very early. But I'd expect that they'd at least be talking about it in the news rather than just an "Oh by the way, Aaron Hernandez may have murdered someone."

I guess if he was higher profile it would be bigger. No one outside of TFF, Patriots fans, and UF fans likely know who he is.

The more important thing is how buddy buddy is Hernandez with ESPN? He did grow up in Bristol, so that should by him a few days til it gets mentioned.

edit:^^^ Pretty much anyone who follows football remotely closely will know him. Especially if they play fantasy.

Weird. Maybe its one of those "will you voluntarily come to the station to talk to us" situations. Its very rare for someone to be removed from the premises while a warrant is being executed.

This is true. An earlier picture shows the same two guys being stopped outside the house as they attempted to leave, so they very well may have been escorting them away from the scene to keep them away from the media.

I'm predicting that he Ray Lewises the situation. Testifies against a buddy or two in order to get off for (whatever) his part is. Does no time in jail but possibly misses some time in the NFL for the resulting ethics violation penalty.
