The human animal is a beautiful and terrible creature, capable of limitless compassion and unfathomable cruelty.
White refers to himself in "Are You There, God? It's Me, Dean" as a "computer technician". I've always assumed that he was at least reasonably competent (he certainly seems to know how the surveillance equipment at the Venture Compound works), he's just a lazy dick who mooches off Billy. I'm kind of hoping for an episode that addresses how Billy and White are doing- Billy with his medical degree, how/if that's changing his life, and how that's changing things between him and White.

Well they must be at least doing sort of okay because they have a official arch-villian now from the Guild of Calamitous Intent. (I can't remember if they got one before Saint Cloud showed up).

If we really want to pick apart everything lets argue about why the Monarchs had to talk Rusty into letting them in to the tunnels when they were able to get in and had maps in Operation P.R.O.M.

There's no proof they're even listed as heroes, though. Saint Cloud just threw a briefcase full of money at the problem to make it disappear.

Because they're superVILLAINS, not superamateurs. It's way more awesome to go all Scooby Doo on the Venture compound with "Beaver Inspector" shirts.

Last week I saw Venture Brothers for the first time on Netflix instant streaming, and I watched the whole first season. I absolutely love it and am probably going to buy Season 2 next. (I don't subscribe to cable.)

"Apparently I'm doing a drive-by mission for the Yardies!" Ah, early PS2 days, has it really been that long?

When you get the DVD's be sure to watch the commentary (afterwards of course) even if you're not really into that stuff. It's like a great b-side to the episodes.

The commentaries are completely different beasts from, say, Futurama commentaries. They're constantly off topic, but you end up picking up a lot about what makes Doc and Jackson tick.

No, because that would mean that Hank won't become the Bat on a full-time basis, and Bat Hank is by far the most badass Hank.

I'm getting anxious for an episode that pushes Dean's plot further. They've sketched out Hank's future early on, showing that him and his new buddy Gary are surprisingly competent at being superheroes, but with Dean it's been all setup and no payoff.

I think Dean has made just as much progress considering Hatred somewhat helped him come to terms with being a clone in the last episode. I can see them pairing Dean with JJ in the future.

The trailer for season 5 showed (to the most obsessed fans, most probably) that Molotov got her hands on it, so I don't think we will see more of Hank playing golden godess.

DIEGETIC SPACEMAN posted:

I'm even more anxious when I realize that despite the fact that Dean has been out of the spotlight since the premiere, his plot has still been advancing at a good pace, what with helping HELPeR and then bonding a little with Hatred. I really want to see the pay-off to that.

I love how Hatred managed to say exactly what Dean needed to hear but that it was completely accidental.

Not really seeing Dean going off to JJ's place myself.

I bet in the future commentary for this season they'll reveal that the Beaver Inspector shirt is for real and could at the time be bought somewhere on the internet.

Or they just saw a guy wearing it and decided that was the one t-shirt The Monarch should have.
