Wonder if that included the 30 cent Mario and Yoshi game and if I can apply the points toward next years Club Nintendo year. I'm probably sitting on like 500 coins to enter right now too!

Is Vegas Stakes anything worth caring about? It looks like it's nothing special-- just an extremely dated casino game.

I remember Spelunker kicking my rear end a whole lot as a child. I might pick it up later, for nostalgia's sake. Maybe I'll even beat the first level!

In addition to standard gambling fare, occasionally there would be events such as finding a lost wallet (you can keep the money inside or turn it in to the hotel office for a 50% chance that the person who gets the wallet back will repay your kindness with more money than what was initially in the wallet) or some down-on-his-luck guy will want to sell you some kind of jewelry or whatever and you can choose to buy it or not (there's a 50% chance that you will profit from selling the item later, or it'll turn out the item is a fake). I rented a lot of gambling simulators back in the day, and Vegas Stakes is my favorite of the bunch, though that ain't saying much.

Still looking for a cheap copy of that version.

Just posting to say Urban Trial Freestyle is an excellent game, and you should all download it immediately. There aren't tons of tracks or bikes, but definitely enough for the discounted price going this week. The track creator is exclusive to the 3DS version but unfortunately I don't think there's any way to share your creations. I say it's worth buying. edit- Just unlocked the challenges, they're really hard .TakaM fucked around with this message at 08:24 on Jun 28, 2013 |

One thing I'll say about the GG Sonic games: Sonic 2 is way, way better than Sonic 1. The first one was glitchy, had poor controls and generally seemed empty compared to the Genesis games. Sonic 2 seemed to find its way creatively with some inventive levels and controlled far better to boot.

On the other hand, the first boss in Sonic 2 Game Gear is impossible so you'll never see anything but the first few levels.

Plus you're on a slope, and if you get too close to the boss you'll likely lose control of Sonic and fall into it. There's a seal boss later on that's a snap. They should have swapped these bosses, even if it messed with the zone themes.

Well it wasn't really that random, you could stand in one spot and deal with the high balls in the same way. The end part was bullshit though. I had way more trouble with the 2nd level after that boss with the gliding through tunnels of spikes.

RMZXAnarchy posted:Probably something similar to how Kirby's Adventure was made 3D. Kirby's Adventure uses a traditional 2D sidescrolling perspective, it's not really comparable to something like Streets of Rage. Making it work with stereoscopic 3D wouldn't be as tricky as it would with a game like Zelda, but it's still not something you can just slap a few layers on.

All of Sega's 3D classics have been rated by the OFLC, and I think Space Harrier was shown off at an event somewhere in Europe, although it hasn't actually got any sort of PAL release date yet.

Like the dude above me said, all these games have been rated by multiple international ratings boards, so Sega is definitely planning on releasing them at some point, but they haven't been officially announced or even acknowledged. My guess is that there's some bureaucratical hold-up that's kept them from releasing them in a timely manner, so they'll probably end up releasing them in a deluge like they're now doing with the Game Gear games.

Anyone care to explain something to a new Wii U owner in regards to the eShop ? What is the deal with the WiiU shop having NOTHING, yet I can access the Wii shop through the Wii U and get all the games ? Does credit carry over, ect? Just weird to me. So if I purchased a few SEGA games from my childhood, at some point would they ever be transferable to the WiiU ?

Your Wii VC games will be transferable to Wii U at some point (for a small fee), but only when the publishers for each individual game have made that game available for Wii U; this process is very slow with no real ETA for anything, and there are whole platforms (including all the Sega stuff) that aren't even officially supported on Wii U just yet, so you could be waiting a long while before certain games are transferable or even available.

Thanks. I was kind of looking forward to being able to poop and play Streets of Rage 2. I'm more peeved because I put $50 credit on the Wii U store (picked up Trine 2 and two NES games) but nothing else really interests me. I'd love to take that credit to the Wii store instead of it sitting there.

I have a lot of Wii VC games that I transferred from my old Wii, and I dumped $20 into the Wii U eShop, and the only thing I've done with that money thusfar is buy the Wii U versions of those same Wii games at the "upgrade" fee ($1 NES, $1.50 SNES). Still got quite a bit of money left. Also, I use the term "upgrade" loosely because the Wii version is still completely accessible; it's more like I have two versions of the same game, kinda like how, if you're familiar with Steam, you'd have a standard version of a game and a Mac version just because. I'd recommend Mighty Switch Force, as I found it to be a very good puzzle platformer with a killer soundtrack. I have it and the sequel on the 3DS, but I'm sure the Wii U version had more stuff to it (I haven't gotten around to playing that version yet). I guess look the game up on YouTube to see if that's something you might be interested in.

I think I'm confusing myself with regards to Platinum status, coins and when to spend them. I currently have 710 coins, but it resets every year on June 30? So if I don't spend them I'm screwed or does it mean that the Platinum status resets but I still keep my 710 coins and just need to earn 600 more for Platinum for next year?

Coins do expire eventually, but its something like 2 years after you earn them. They give you a heads up on your account status page.
