holocaust bloopers posted:This is an A-10 landing on the autobahn. A cursory google search shows this to be something that was practiced during NATO exercises back in the good old days. Fun fact, the main ramp at Ramstein was originally a section of autobahn during WW2. It wasn't being used as a highway because the bridge at Mannheim wasn't done yet. The Germans used it as an airfield, the Americans took it over when they came through there, and after the war we had the French build the airbase there. (North side was Ramstein AB, south side was Landstuhl AB) When they finally completed the A6, they curved it to the south of the airbase. If you look at the map today, you can see the old autobahn making up the west and east approaches to the base gates as well as the line going straight through the main ramp. http://goo.gl/maps/wAH0o

If so it's sitting on a wall in a black office building in El Segundo that used to be CSC, wedged in-between the Raytheon, Northrop Grumman and Boeing campus's. The cafeteria we had sucked so we crossed the street and used the Northrop one which was sorta open to the public. We used to get the employee discount too until they figured out the wierdo hippie digital artists were coming from across the street and not to accept their ID badges for a discount Defense contractors have bitchin' cafeterias... grover posted:This part? And then the long taxiway? Yeah. That square-ish C-130 ramp just to the west of your link is relatively new, it was built with the second runway around 2006-7. If you go to the west, and follow the taxiway and main ramp to the west (which is the original base ramp), you come across the large ramp that holds cargo aircraft and has the main pax terminal and cargo terminal (added mid 2000's). Just west of their is the west gate of the base, and you can follow that road all the way to the SW where it crosses L363. Past that it's not a main road anymore even though it's very wide, there's an AF construction training unit down there and they actually use the end of the road to practice making road cuts, plus we used the long stretch for PT tests. At the end there you can see where it merges back into the A6, at the crossing with A62.

There was a a/t thread by some American goon who joined the FFL a few years ago. IIRC he did a few years and then had some sort of family emergency or something, they have him poo poo about extending his leave, and he was technically a deserter, so he just said gently caress it and never went back. Edit: here it is http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=2726455 Edit: apparently he "deserted" because a girl stole his passport Smiling Jack fucked around with this message at 05:22 on Jun 28, 2013 |

The disabled vet part wasn't to get the contract, it was to get it without competition. The IRS guy pleaded the 5th when asked about it. Total post-sequester potential value of the contracts exceeds half a billion dollars. The disabled vet part is the tiniest part of the mess.

Unless somehow West Point is "Enlisted Military Service."

His shell company address is in Chinatown, designated a government hubzone, so he gets even more bonus points when he bids for a contract. It's the rules that are corrupt and full of poo poo, not him.

It's an airliftable tracked jeep with some very light armor used by german paratroopers to give anti-tank capability. From the numbers on wikipedia, it's about the same weight as a hummvee. Looks like the seats are just for "comfort" and the guys in the back have to stand up to use the TOW.
