I'm starting to think more and more that Rusty and The Monarch are cousins and that Vendata/The Monarch's dad was Jonas Sr.'s brother. It fits with the name of the show and explains a lot of stuff. What if the "plane crash" that The Monarch remembers was just one of many X1 crashes on some family outing?

In a later episode he said that he was only in the woods for a few hours before he got bored and decided to walk out to the freeway, where he was picked up and claimed his vast inheritance. The spending years/a whole summer thing was something he was claiming to build up his backstory for the whole Monarch theme.

Monarch's mom's dress pattern almost looks like butterflies on it. I hadn't noticed that the first time.

Time for more theories that will probably be proven wrong! The new character, Head Shot, seems like he's being set up to play a bigger role in the show at some point. And this most recent episode all but flat-out said Brock's been sleeping with his "girlfriend" Amber. So my money's on him finding out about it and killing off one of the OSI characters in a fit of rage. Or, since his voice is identical to Professor Impossible's, maybe those two turn out to be long-lost twin brothers and team up in the Revenge Society.
