I specialize in print design, but I'm pretty flexible. Feel free to get in touch if you have any projects you'd like to discuss!

Awful is only a word. The reality is much, much worse.
I'm the marketing guy for a company that sells industrial tools.
We sell to oil and gas, mining, big machinery stuff.

We have a guy-centric brand, tough guy stuff. We like skulls, metal, girls in our graphics.

The look is very stuck in the 90s hair-metal kind of feel, but we embrace it.

I'm looking for illustrators to do our t-shirt designs.
We do a minimum of 4 shirt designs a year, usually 6 or more.

I need someone that has good detail, nice line work, and can turn things around quickly.
You also need to be flexible with your designs, our owner loves to make little changes to things.

We're looking for a good skull design for the first one. Here's some designs I grabbed from the internet just to give you an idea of what kind of detail I'm looking for.
(We're looking for the skull to be included in some graphic line treatment, tattoo line work sort of stuff)

I prefer Illustrator, am fine with hi-resolution Photoshop, and am willing to consider ink or natural media if you have the proper equipment to get me a very good digital copy of it.

I'm not looking for somebody to go to istock and grab some vector files and mash them together.

Payment will be fixed price, not per hour. Couple hundred bucks per illustration.

PM me some samples of your work or send to marketing at torcup dot com.

This is not how I envisioned this working out.
Hi artsy people. I am looking for someone to make a youtube channel banner for me. It should follow the specifications outlined here.

I do mostly minecraft videos and want something light and reflective of video games and/or minecraft in general. It does not have to follow the style specifically of minecraft or be overly cartoony.

Please email me if you think you can assist with a few examples and an approximate bid: wylkersvideos (at) gmail (dot) com

I don't have PMs so email is preferred. Thanks!

Hi, we're a company comfortable with utilizing our niche position to needlessly perpetuate lovely dudebro imagery, including the objectification of women! We've conservatively refused to update our image for over two decades, to the point where we rely on irony to make it work, but fail to realize that the joke is very much on us.

We're looking for a professional illustrator to execute meticulous, time-consuming work with exacting technical criteria. Please voluntarily devalue yourself for a fixed-rate job with a too-short deadline, with the possibility of many last-minute, non-negotiable changes in order to satisfy some rando's whim and fancy. Don't worry, the more time you spend on this, the less you're technically getting paid!

I'm pretty sure they are mocking your fixed rate amount more than anything else. A "drawing" like the examples shown can take a lot of time.

I argue with my boss all the time about how to pay freelancers. But I don't get to make final decisions on money.

It's weird to be in a position where my job requires me to hire freelancers in a way that would have pissed me off when I was freelancing. I'm making progress, he's slowly agreeing to better deals with outside artists. But it is slow going.

I freelanced for 10 years, and there were times when I would have been the guy making the snarky reply to my post, railing against the idiot trying to hire a freelancer at a fixed rate. There were also times that I'd jump at a chance to make some money, wether the work was annoying or not.

Hi, thread. My mother passed a week ago, and I've just returned from a cross country flight to arrange her final details and bury her. I'm looking to hire someone to draw up a memorial tattoo for her. The design I have in mind is a portrait version of a red breasted robin, made to look slightly feminine - so a regular person can look at it and think "girl bird" but not something super anthropomorphized. I'd appreciate if anyone interested could PM me. I'm still pretty numb about the whole thing, so if I've made any gaffes in this post please forgive them.

Friends Are Evil, that's definitely the style I'm looking for. My music is here.

Notice the skulls? I've had a few other people do paintings and artwork for me in the past. I've got a few thousand downloads so far of my music and I'm happy to include you in the credits as a listed artist. I'm poor as hell so I can only probably pay about $20 for a piece, but it doesn't have to be huge or intricate. I'll contact you via e-mail to discuss this more to avoid bogging down the thread. Thanks to everyone who posted!

Hello,

My friends and I did a thing, and we'd like it animated. The run time we have with the written dialog is around 15-25 minutes, it would be set in an urban area with five distinct characters and a few undead. We're not doing this as an entertainment venture, so it just needs to be passable enough to entertain those who helped write the script and there isn't a time table for when you'd need to have it done. So, a novice doing this as a side project for cheap would be what we are looking for.

What would an hourly rate be for this type of project and how long does it take to animate 20 minutes? I imagine that varies greatly depending on detail and the actions of the characters, but please try and ball park it.

Also, since this is our first time doing something like this we might need someone to tell us how the process works and what you'd need from us to get it done.

The answer: Thousands upon thousands of dollars. I remember seeing some rental studio you could get to make your own anime and it was something along the lines of $400 per second or something? Obviously it's not going to cost you $480,000 for something way less polished, but it's still going to cost A Lot Of Money. Also I recommend looking at https://twitter.com/forexposure_txt to see how many people don't understand how much time and effort is required to make things.

Edit: Also 20 minutes at ~20fps is about 24000 frames that need to be drawn. Even assuming you tweened a lot and shaved that down to 6000 frames that's still 6000 pieces of art you need made and even at an incredibly lowball of $1 per piece of art that might take anywhere from 5-30 minutes at a rough level that's still a lot of money. (And would end up about 500 - 3000 HOURS of work. HOURS).

Hello, creative people.

I'm a homebrewer who is working on a label design for a very small batch of beer. The end result will be printed on a 3.7"H X 3.5"W static cling label.

I have a rough design which I have created in photoshop, but while I like the direction that I am going, I simply don't have the skills, the training, or the eye to be able to execute it. I would like a trained designer to spend a small amount of time cleaning it up, and making it acceptable for printing.

Please feel free to PM or post if you are interested, and we can work out a contract.

LAFFO
Hi everyone! I am currently working on a personal project that I obviously don't want to go into much detail about (goons!)

I would like to hire someone to make me some illustrations for a basic presentation.

I am interested in over-the-top 80's stereotypes, preferably cel-shaded. Something not TOO cartoony, but fun, nostalgic, and infinitely obvious. Most of you are probably too young to remember the 80's, but I hope some of you can recall rat-tails and roller-skates, and metal lunchboxes. I'm cheating a bit and mixing the entire decade for more possibilities, (maybe some later misremembered 90's, and you can TOO).

Any accessories should be really bright and obvious. Colors will play a huge part. In Tales of Vesperia, you can really see the accessories and clothing changes. I'm aiming for something in between this, and Jet-Set Radio, with a little more Americana than Japanese art. Remember, this is set in the most boring 80's suburbs in the middle of nowhere. These are the best possibilities I can come up with for the 80's suburbs:

Some options for illustrations: (HAVE FUN)

*Skinny Nerd Guy with glasses, pocket protector and commodore 64 (looks smart, not TOO dorky) #1 most important dude
*Slightly short chubby, Hispanic nerd outcast (rock band t-shirt, cut-off jeans, sneakers, hideous grandma sweater - unfastened, gold cross, baseball cap) #2 dude
*Hippy Stoner
*Preppy CHeerleader Girl
*Ridiculous neighborhood watch guy
*Punk Rock Girl/Goth Girl
**80's Powersuit Businessman
*The Skinny Nerd's fattish, obnoxious nut loving mom
*Madonna fetishist girl
*Hip-Hop Dude (has to be funnier than racist, obviously) Like the idea of walkmans ->shoulder boomboxes proggression
*Black girl still sporting an afro
*Bully Jock Sports Guy
*Weirdo Gun-Nut Militia guy with camo and fallout shelter kinda poo poo
*80's (mad?) SCIENTIST
*A Really Old Man with a 4-point walker with tennis balls at the bottom
*David Bowie kind of Guy-Liner dude
*Complete weirdo nonsensical homeless guy
*A Nurse, complete with giant needle and classy/sexy outfit
*A Relatively Normal closet Band/Choir geek girl
*Preppy Housewife
*Basic Alien but TRIPEDAL, all aliens will have at least 3 sides. (old Sci-Fi standby actually, but not used much lately)

If ANY of this sounds interesting to you, send me a PM and we can discuss details. The important things are fun and nostalgia. I don't need animations right now, just creative cel-shaded 80's freaks. Preferably around 2 portions wide by 3 portions tall. Pixels are fine for examples, but final products should be Illustrator.

I have plenty of funding, I just need art for my presentations and I draw like a 5-year old. Please PM with portfolios or samples, and I'm still unclear on the rules for posting here vs. SA-Mart, so please forgive me if I messed it up. I can pay well upfront once I find a great artist. I need 5 or 6 for starters, but more never hurt. I'll pay for any, once they are well-done, and a big bonus if you can do lots for me.

Will post in SA-MART if it's more appropriate?
