I don't think they really added anything at all to their version of Milk It. Their Gates of Steel of course isn't really good compared to the real deal, but that at least add some flavor to it.

They're playing on a boat in New York. The last time I saw Eyehategod play in a boat in New York, their set got cut really short because apparently the organizers didn't allot much time. Pig Destroyer's set was cut short by technical problems too.

Really, REALLY loving this album. Haven't really felt this obsessed with a record since Satan Worshiping Doom I think.

Here's a music video they released for the album.

Thanks for this! I've been listening to "World Ending" by them the last couple of weeks, and really like it. I'm a big fan of the whole instrumental thing, so they're right up my ally.

Yeah, I like the new Rosetta, not wild about it yet though. Hopefully with repeated listens it'll get better. I definitely wouldn't judge it on it's cover though! Still hoping that the vinyl release art will be different, if I decide I like it enough to make that purchase.

It's perfectly good, but not it doesn't hit me as hard as A Determinism of Morality and definitely not as much as the Galilean Satellites. Their style is really starting to get monotonous.

We got all of Age of Winters the first night in San Francisco, with Codex Corvidae as part of the encore. There was also an actual pit, which was a far cry from the Apocryphon tour where they had security throwing a fit at people banging their heads too hard. Lots of fun.

Bummer they couldn't bring their beer on tour with them, though.

Hello thread it's me again, some updates from Saturnalia Temple,

I was at our drummers funeral yesterday, which was heart wrenching. He had a sudden medical emergency and passed away in july. Jens Gustafsson was also the drummer for Griftegård, and a slew of other bands (Human Size Giants, Rawhypnols, etc),

He had just gotten onboard and played a few shows with us, but we'll miss him both as a drummer and a new found brother. I think this is actually the only or one of very few recordings of us playing together.

I can't really think of any other bands who've got quite the same minimalist/horror sound, but there are a few I'd say are somewhat similar. Burning Witch is the obvious one if you don't know them already, they share a member in Stephen O'Malley. French doom band Monarch also have that sort of feel, I like their S/T but their latest offering (on bandcamp) is a bit more creeping and subtle in a Khanate-like style. Otherwise Atavist, Ocean and possibly Fleshpress (who I think are awesome and I'm pretty happy to find their bandcamp has three albums I haven't heard) might also be up your street.

e: Maybe Moss? I haven't heard anything they've done since before Cthonic Rites though and I wasn't super impressed.

Though I probably seem like the Subrosa fanboy in this thread and though their aesthetics are a bit heavy handed in their gothy-ness NPR is streaming a second track off of their forth coming album and it's worth a listen if you're into some slow trudging doom with dual violins to make it a bit more dissonant.

I think Sunn O)))'s pretty much a given when talking about Khanate, given O'Malley's involvement with both.

Incidentally, I stumbled on Jodis recently. They're basically a less existentially terrifying version of Khanate with Aaron Turner doing vocals. Can't link poo poo on my phone, but I love 'em.

Also, hell yeah to whoever mentioned Subrosa. No Help For the Mighty Ones was loving phenomenal, and I've got high hopes for the new LP.
