I think someone should explain to Bondo-Saturn guy that, if you want to make a previously-bumpy and uneven internal body panel (like inside the trunk) smooth instead of latticed, you use a plastic or fiberglass mold. You don't fill the spaces between the latticework with bondo.

I didn't get a photo, but I saw a terrible license plate. You see, it turns out that my state is now selling license plate with some corporate logos - to be exact, I saw a Dr Pepper custom plate today, with "FLAVOR" for the tag. Used the custom plate generator to recreate the plate since I didn't get a photo. It was on a pretty normal Lexus GS-350. Also, custom plates are now handled by a private entity here - there's even multiple high school plates (most of them from DFW). Sadly, TRNLFT is taken. e: 2G1CUP is available! Someone needs to get that. Preferably on the Whataburger plate.

I think you'd risk a bit more if you got a UT plate and went to College Station You'd probably return to your car to find it hanging from a rope by one wheel. (for those not from TX, there's a huge rivalry between the University of Texas [Austin] and Texas A&M [College Station] - College Station is a smaller city in east Texas, that's fiercely proud of its university) You could also always get this plate... and park on campus at UT. But you'd probably find it covered in "Keep Austin Weird" stickers and reeking of pot instead of being hung. e: to give an idea of how much A&M and UT hate each other, my aunt (who went to UT) gave my stepdad (who went to A&M) a bit of UT memorabilia a few years back. They haven't spoken since. I kind of suspect that was the intent. randomidiot fucked around with this message at 08:54 on Aug 16, 2013 |

A long rear end time ago I had to pull a Ford F100 with a three on the tree (I think maybe four on second thought) into the shop I was working at and that thing seriously took me for a loop. I see clutch pedal but then the lever looks pretty much identical to an A/T lever. The guy was nice enough to draw me a map of the shift pattern and once I clicked up and down a few times while stationary I quite enjoyed driving it.

Isn't it the same pattern as the 3-speed floor shifters Ford had in the early Mustangs? I know my uncle's 66 threw me for a loop with that layout, it was different from everything else I'd driven at that point. Smoked tailights are one of those things where I like the idea of it, but never the execution. Making your indicators blend in with the rest of your car for aesthetic reasons, I can understand. But it's always done so drat poorly. Maybe if they used an LCD screen and set it to black when they weren't using their turn or brake signals and had it turn transparent when they were? Like the glasses they use for some 3D effects:

Active shuttering has been around for a few decades (and cheaply for a few years) now. There's also a version that "frosts" instead of going black. Get on it, people!

Texas privatized custom plates awhile back, pretty sure that's the only reason we get so many choices. You wind up paying up to $395/year (on top of normal registration) for them though, depending which style you go for and just how custom you go. And if you want your custom plate fees to be due at the same time as your vehicle registration, that's another fee. You also can't use them on classic/antique cars if they're titled as such. Oh yeah, limited to 6 characters, even though we've been rocking 7 character plates for awhile. Every now and then they'll auction off a handful of "desirable" 7 character plates for assrape amounts of money. JP Money posted:E: ^ Oh my loving god is Luby's disgusting.
