Sasha is pretty hot or cold for me these days, usually way more cold than hot, and after the disappointment of Involv3r I was pretty close to giving up on him.

But holy crap this set is excellent!

Anyone here familiar with Edmonton Alberta? Going to be there for a week next week, and I'd love some recommendations. Any events going on the weekend of the 16th would be wonderful. I get that my options are probably limited but even a bar that plays tech house or house would be perfect.

I don't know if this is the right place to post this because I'll be damned if I can tell tech house deep house and techno apart from one another, but Claude VonStroke has his new single available for free on his website if you give them your email address. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NT6uYPeDtE Here's a youtube link if you want to check it out first but it is outrageously good.

I'm just starting to get into this kind of downtempo dance music--so far the only things I've really explored are Dirtybird and Anjunadeep. I also like Andrew Bayer and Ben Pearce for what that's worth. Where else should I look?

edit--speaking of Andrew Bayer the music video for Need Your Love came out this week and it is absolutely gorgeous.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwCpRMI4ZoI

I'd heard a couple of his tracks on Anjunadeep compilations and bought Stick By This based on your rec. It's fantastic. Like I mentioned earlier I have a hard time caring enough to differentiate between similar-sounding subgenres of EDM but would it be correct to call Dusky 'deep house' and the Dirtybird stuff more along the lines of 'tech house?'

thank you so much. First one was sublime and working my way through the second now.

Gonna second Dusky. They had an album out on Anjunabeats or Anjunadeep or Anjuna i dont know. They're not really my style at all, but I definitely think you'll like them.

Give their Essential Mix a listen and then just follow the names around that you like etc and you'll hopefully be able to find something else that you're in to.
