Oh boy, Church of Misery's first Canadian show will be in Vancouver! I haven't heard any other tour dates, but Saviours are playing as well so I would guess they're doing a West Coast thing.

I highly recommend going to see CoM, I found myself catching them before an Eyehategod show and they absolutely killed it.

Damning with the faintest of praise.

I mean it's not bad, but considering who's involved I expected more, y'know? Definitely nowhere near as much a letdown as Shrinebuilder was, though.

Nooooooo the Toronto show is too early for me to see it when I go back home for the weekend, and then I'll be back in Hamilton when they're here in Ottawa. What a rollercoaster of emotions I just went through when I saw they were playing a block away from my apartment.

I think I'm glad that Vista Chino album isn't under the Kyuss name. It's similar to their style, but it's definitely not the 'same' band. I like it but apart from Barcelonian none of it really grabs me, it's background music for working out or driving or something. The weak link is definitely the new guitarist, which is a real shame. He's a passable Homme-a-like when they do old Kyuss songs, but unfortunately it extends to him being a bit of a pale and unremarkable imitation when he's coming up with his own stuff.

I really don't mind the mastering half as bad as some of you guys though, I prefer how it sounds to ...Like Clockwork, although I prefer that album.

I haven't seen them mentioned much, but I'm really impressed with the two albums Cough's put out so far, Sigillum Luciferi and Ritual Abuse. I don't listen to them too often, but when I do, it's just really solid and slow doom with a little black metal atmosphere from time to time. Has there been any word of work on a new non-split album?

Thanks for all the Justin Broadrick remix love, a lot of these had passed me by as I only became obsessed with Jesu within the last year or so (been a fan of Godflesh for a while though!). The new Windhand album rips, and I loved their split with Cough. If the Thou album drops before the end of the year, it will have been a good year for slow, hateful doom. Windhand are filling the gap nicely until Electric Wizard grace us with a new album. Orchard in particular is pure EW worship. Has anyone heard the new Saturnalia Temple EP yet?

my only (very small) complaint is the high pitched feedback is way too high in the mix compared to other bands and it hurts my ears :(

There's a new song out by Truckfighters. It's solid but not really grabbing hold. It fits in pretty well with their previous album, which I think wasn't as strong as the 2 preceding it but wasn't bad by any means.

They're playing with Pelican on Oct. 17th at St. Vitus in Brooklyn (I believe), then Pelican is on again the 18th but with different openers. Going to the 18th, really tempted to do the 17th as well because this band is awesome.

This is cool, thanks. Nice idea for a simple but effective music video too.

I've seen Pelican twice and found them a little disappointing both times - for me they're much better on record. Although on one of those occasions they were co headlining with MONO, who it really isn't fair for other bands to have to play after.
