Show of hands, who else here is kind of bummed that FOX didn't splurge and just buy the rights to Sympathy for the Devil to use as their opening theme? Sure they wouldn't have any money left over for their VFX budget, but at least I could get up and dace for about 20 seconds while the intro rolled.

A 10% levy on BAKED GOODS?!

Given how wacky this show is it's amazing we're on 14 pages and haven't had some assholes repeatedly arguing about how such and such fact is ruining their immersion.

It's pretty funny that they're just straight up copying things too, the T2 psych ward thing, Harry Potter/Voldemort blood mixing so neither can die while the other lives, etc.

It's kind of hard for your immersion to be broken when it doesn't exist to begin with. That's one of the perks of having the show go nuts from the very beginning, you can do whatever the hell you want because gently caress it, why not.

The second episode was good as well! I'm glad that the show is rolling with being over-the-top, because if it was trying to be serious I don't think that it would work. I was a bit disappointed that the witch turned out to be such a short-lived villian, but I'm not really surprised.

My favorite jokes was the bit about taxes and Crane's response to Abbie's impersonation of his accent.

I wish I was enjoying this show as much as you guys. I can't get into the two main characters. They feel really average/generic, and I can't keep my attention on them. I realized halfway through this second episode that I had no idea what was going on because I didn't care to. If the two main actors approached me on the street yelling "SLEEPY HOLLOW!" in my face, I still wouldn't recognize them.

The female lead was saying something that was supposed to be really emotional (I forget what exactly), and I kept thinking that they haven't built up the character enough to make people care, but I seem to be the only one with that viewpoint and everybody else is on board. That's ok though, Grimm returns in one month.

Yeah, I'm not going to jump on you for not liking the same show I do but it's weird you just complained about something Grimm is far, far worse at. I couldn't even make it through the 4th or 5th episode of Grimm because of how generic it was. It's basically Sleepy Hollow that takes itself way too seriously and doesn't have any of the humor.

The first four episodes of Grimm in the first season were various degrees of stank on ice, though even they had a few fun moments. The fifth episode, with the ratkin kid that played pied piper violinist was awesome. One of the things I like about Grimm is the relative lack of external pressure on Nick to do what he does, unlike the "You are one of the two Witnesses who have been Destined by Fate to be the Chosen Ones to fulfill the Prophecy" of Sleepy Hollow. Nick does what he does out of a sense of decency and duty, not because "the elder gods will nuke the world if you don't."

Also, I like the way Nick is fairly laid back about this stuff instead of going all "I am the vengeful avenger whose thirst for revenge will drive me to seek vengeance and I will be avenged!" the way I see Abby and/or her sister going. Don't get me wrong. I like Sleepy Hollow so far, but I can see it might wear a little thin after a while.

In terms of pet peeves, the only thing I can name that truly burrs my saddle is the 250 years thing. Unless this show is somehow taking place in the year 2031 or so, they're off by a couple of decades. If you want to talk estimates just say "over 225 years had passed" or "over two and a quarter centuries" something like that. Otherwise I want to start seeing cybernetics, lasers and some goddam flying cars in Sleepy Hollow.
