For what it's worth, the anime thread was discussing this at one point, and someone was making the point Titan has a pretty large female following because it treats both sexes with a lot of respect. The male and female uniforms are identical and several female characters are in starring roles in the plot (Mikasa, Christa, Annie, Ymir, etc.), have a large fan following (Sasha), and / or are extremely competent in-battle (Petra, Hanji).

The extreme lack of fan service is pretty remarkable, and a definite point in the series' favor.

Another point in favour of that that I remember from the anime thread was the way the trainees treated each other - none of the male trainees were indignant that a female was #1 in the class, Eren and Reiner didn't feel the need to compensate for Annie kicking their asses in CQC training, etc.

Kill La Kill, new show from Studio Trigger (the same dudes who split off from Gainax after making TTGL and did Little Witch Academia) and probably the best this season.

Thanks guys! I've been meaning to check that out, as I enjoyed P&S and Inferno Cop a lot. This sounds like the same type of insanity.

Well you know what they say, war is a great equalizer. Don't have time to worry about the little things like that when everyone's getting eaten by giant sexless monsters.

This is not the only thing I really appreciate about the series but it's on my top five. I can't still get over Mikasa's rear end-shot in one of the end credits cards, however.

This won't be a movie of a TV series, though. It'd be a movie of a manga series, like Dragonball Evolution.

It's not even really correct to call it an rear end shot, either... it's way more. It's basically just a big crotch shot that's partially from the rear, complete with camel toe.

I hear people talk about this so often and I have no idea what they're talking about because I just skip credits at the end. Maybe it's better this way.

Pretty much all of the end cards, with the exception of episode 17's, are pretty cool. One of them was even done by Sasha's voice actress. Crunchyroll has a list of all of them.

Even seemengly innocuous manga series have insane amount of detail on the female characters' genitals (visible through ridiculously tight stripped paties, usually). Western comics don't seem to focus on it that much, but I don't have too many references, so I wouldn't know for sure.

Maybe I just need to watch more porn? :unsmigghh:

There are plenty of comics from various mainstream and indie publishers and various imprints within that feature women in poses that are literally traced from porn.

See The Hawkeye Initiative for more.

Isn't it just a spoof on DVD covers where the lead actors are portrayed as giant floating headshots in general? Admittedly Star Wars is a huge repeat offender when it comes to that kinda thing.

Yeah, that image is so generic that it could be referencing anything. My pet* theory is that the SnK artists are SNK fans.
