You shared it with a dick.

So as someone who worshipped Toad the Wet Sprocket through the 90's and was seriously disappointed when they broke up, and then stopped following them when nothing new ever came out, I was blindsided by the knowledge that they've reunited and put out a new album last week, and it's just as good as anything they've done. Color me excited. I figure there's gotta be at least one other fan here.

http://www.amazon.com/New-Constella...he+wet+sprocket

The title track to me sounds like "okay we need a happy sounding radio hit" but the rest is much stronger, just like all their past records.

Love that song, love this album. After being mildly disappointed by Arcade Fire's new stuff, it's uplifting to hear new stuff that's exactly what I want (and expect) from a band I love.

Everyone should listen to San Fermin. Put Matt Berninger in Sufjan Stevens with a female lead singer to duet with and you probably have pretty good idea of what it sounds like.

Nailed it. I was worried that San Fermin's lead male voice was too much like The National, but I really do like the album a lot.

New Los Campesinos! album leaked, called No Blues. It's really good. I love this band so much. They toned down on the poppy-tweeness of their old stuff and as a result have a lot cleaner and more coherent sound. Check it out!

Boy, I think it's about time I tell you the difference between a man and a woman. A woman isn't a woman unless she's pretty. And a man isn't a man unless he's ugly.
A buddy of mine is a drummer for a band in Los Angeles called Barbarian Overlords. It's a mixture of rock and blues.

They posted the first album on their YouTube page.

My personal favorite songs are The Ambassador and Code of the West.

They are about to release their second album Rise Up in December.

Everything they've done has been self-funded, so you can't get more Indie than that. They'd be happy to hear any feedback from you guys.

I've been slightly more disappointed by each new Arcade Fire album since Funeral. I mildly like most of it, some songs are pretty good, but overall find myself pretty indifferent to it. Meanwhile there's dozens of other new albums I find and love every year.

I saw Lucius the other night. It was my second time seeing them, and they put on a great show (although I was disappointed and somewhat puzzled that they didn't play "Hey Doreen"). They seem to be really coming into their own as a band. It was definitely a stronger performance than when I saw them this spring. Anyway, it was Halloween, which meant costumes.

The opening band Alpenglow (who I also enjoyed a lot) hilariously dressed up as Lucius:

I haven't seen any posts about this yet, but the band Moon Hooch just released their first album recently. I'm not 100% this is the right thread for them, but that's mostly because they are so unlike anything I've heard before. They're a three man group of two saxophonists and a drummer. It's a weird set-up to be sure, but they are absolutely phenomenal. Here's the first track off their album:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slOTvMN0i-Y

It's really awesome stuff, and I don't think you'll find much else like it these days. They opened for They Might Be Giants back in march, which is where I first heard them. If anyone ever has the chance to see them live, absolutely DO NOT PASS IT UP. They put such energy into their show, it was incredible to watch. I've never seen a band put so much passion and energy into their performance, and it totally took over the audience.

I've been gushing about this band for the last few months, and I'm super excited they have an album out. Give them a chance if you haven't yet! They're a super cool group.

I think he's incredibly gifted, but The Swimming Hour and Mysterious Production etc. are the only albums I really, really enjoy listening to from start to finish.

I actually enjoyed Hands of Glory more than Break It Yourself, even those the former is mostly covers; the LP had some tracks ("Desperation Breeds," "Hole in the Ocean Floor") that I thought bordered on self-indulgence.

That said I really like "Pulaski" — some of his best work with the violin IMO.

And then Broken Bells released a new Single. Not sure how I feel about it yet. It still feels like their continued departure from their first album which was amazing, but at the same time, it's still really good, (and that bridge). I dunno, I feel like I'll hate everything by them after that first album. :(

Any other Ozma fans here? This is a band I first became aware of thanks to these forums, many years ago now. I remember people describing their debut Rock and Roll Part Three as "the real third Weezer album." Anyway, after releasing three albums, breaking up, reuniting for a fourth album, and then going on a long hiatus, they recently announced that album five is in the works. They have a Pledge Music project which has already surpassed its goal. I'm looking forward to hearing what they come up with after the long break.

Also, Daniel Brummel, one of the principal singers and songwriters from Ozma, has a new band, Sanglorians. They just came out with their first album, and it's great. Really energetic power pop with crunchy guitars, orchestral flourishes, and guy/girl vocals. The whole album is streaming on their Bandcamp. Highlight tracks for me are "Liberty Bell," "Love is the Speed of Light," and "Love is Like a Line."

Maybe the Moon Hooch fans here would dig Misteur Valaire. They're jazz musicians doing electronic/pop music. There's not quite as much brass in their more recent stuff, but they still use it to great effect.
