Kimmel had a segment with some kids about how to fix the Government or something. One of the kids suggested "Killing everyone in China" to which Jimmy later asked the kids to vote, "Should we let the Chinese live?" (It was a 2-2 response). So a bunch of humorless jerks have been picketing his show and calling for ABC to fire him. CNN is making a big deal out of it. http://entertainment.time.com/2013/11/12/china-wants-jimmy-kimmel-to-apologize-for-a-third-time/ edit: I don't think what Kimmel said was racist, it was insensitive but satirical. The "joke" came from a kid. Kids say the darndest things. If this was 20 years ago and Cosby was drawing the gag out of a kid, no one would've said anything.

The Chinese foreign ministry is getting involved, too. Because if there's one group of people who knows all about killing Chinese citizens en masse, it's the Chinese government. loving ridiculous.

The CW ordered full seasons of its three freshmen shows (Tomorrow People, Reign and The Originals). I only watch TP and it's merely OK, I don't know about the other two. Wasn't there supposed to be some teen post-apoc CW show or something?

I always liked the episodes where they let Gillian Andersen be less Scully, like the Rashomon episode with Luke Wilson or the Loch Ness monster episode.

Season 5 of Sliders, huh? I hadn't watched this show since it aired, and somehow I missed there was ever even a fifth season. I took the advantage of Netflix to binge through through 1-4 over the last week, and now I'm a couple episodes into the final season and I have no idea what's even going on. They kept Rembrandt of all the originals, and he's still stuck with Kari Whurtever, and somehow Quinn is now in the body of some jarhead who rivals Quinn's brother for the bad-acting trophy of the series (seriously, the other O'Connell was terrible, but so is this guy.) What happened to this show?

ShadowMoo posted:Any good sci-fi dramas released in the past 2 years No. And it sucks. Syfy really pushed two mediocre shows--Stargate Universe* and Caprica--on us. When people didn't watch them because they were, well, mediocre, they axed all non-canadian sci-fi shows. And no one else bothered with science fiction to start with. *I actually really enjoyed SGU season 2, but I understand I'm in the minority there. asecondduck fucked around with this message at 02:57 on Nov 13, 2013 |
