Wow, I didn't realize the recon's PLD basically gives you full points when someone hits your locked target (21 points for a hit, 100 for a kill). Plus the IR view it gives makes it handy for spotting people in brush, or getting a range to dial in the DMR. I thought I would switch away as soon as I had better gadget unlocks, but I might keep it around now.

Press R1.

Like all the time.

Looking at an enemy? Tap R1 for bonus points while you shoot him.

Think that chopper right in front of you is too obvious to spot? The jet flying around at 1000mph can't make out a chopper that's 10 feet off the ground in a dense urban environment. Tap R1. Spot all planes and choppers all the time.

Dense brush in front of you? Just go ahead and tap R1. You'll get a Dorito more often than you'd think.

My favorite is getting in the C130 and watching the other gunners just look around aimlessly with no targets. If you're in the C130 and tap R1 while pointing at an objective it'll basically light up everything within 100 yards of the control point.

Just mash R1 pretty much all the time. I think half my points in this game are from spotting.

His top gun is the CS-LR4 sniper rifle, with some carbines 50 kills behind, so he must spend some time on wookie mountain.

It's also apparently extremely easy to get into division one. I'm division one in attack jets with 17 kills, while 30th place has over 800 kills.

Semantically, "you" is both singular and plural, though syntactically it is always plural. It always takes a verb form that originally marked the word as plural.

Also, there is no plural when the context is an argument with an individual rather than a group. Somfin shouldn't put words in my mouth.

It's the same when you run soflam as the gunner perk in an LAV or MBT. It's really helpful and if even a couple people are on top of things, you'll roll in points. Even if they aren't, you still get points so long as the lazed target gets hit or dies (regardless of it being hit by guided munitions or not) and failing that you get 25 points every time you lock on something.

On another note, smoke grenades are loving amazing. I unlocked the FLIR for my MG4 so, I toss smokes and blast whatever is ahead (FLIR allows you to see through smoke like it's not there). It's also a great way to get pubbies to push ahead on a map like Locker (they get bored if they can't see, you see).

They also tend to bitch about the smokes too, so it's a win-win-win for me.

Good job on the person who thought up Air Superiority. Lets have a air only mode that takes longer to load the map then it does to play. Or the helicopter map where you can't get in someone else's helicopter, so everyone is jumping between seats.

At least the new maps aren't bad. Dragon Ridge seems kinda busted, I had a lot of performance hitches and such. The desert map is neat, gives lots of space to use the bikes and its easy to ambush armor. The map with the central radar dome is kinda dumb though, the central point is really hard to crack. The jungle map is pretty hilarious though, it feels like everyone is constantly spawning behind each other.

The bomber thing is really hard to get to, the point that usually holds it is usually hard to drag away from a team, as everyone is spawning there trying to get into the drat thing. I managed to get a single bombing run in, and someone didn't get a single kill in it since I had no idea how its weapons worked.

Also, this game keeps making me think things that I don't think I was supposed to think. Like, in the Heinan resort, one of the command points is a tennis court. What the hell military value does a loving tennis court have? Why should I even care that the enemy has it and we don't? They can keep the stupid tennis court for all I care.

For more gameplay related questions though, I have two:

- is there any value to leveling up pistols? It's very rare that I get kills with them

- does using the shotgun mod for your assault rifle get you shotgun experience or assault rifle experience?

The airburst will damage anything up to a tank. Not to any noticable degree, but it'll still get you some points, and if you're going to die anyway, might as well scratch the bastard's paint, and if you're lucky you might snag a kill if someone else is unloading on it. For some reason it does hilarious damage to choppers though. It can kill anyone riding outside, and if you get enough hits on target you can even score mobility crits.

Also the mortar. That thing is so much fun. lovely map you don't like? Just drop a ammo box, and drop shells on everything from deployment all game. That thing can mobility crit choppers, and they stay so pleasantly still while turning... :getin: Plus people who don't use it, typically don't know it's remote controlled, so they death-dive their jets and choppers at it, killing themselves over and over while you're sat around the corner.

I just need to play support enough to unlock it, then deploy it somewhere sort of out of the way, and hide in a corner, sitting on top of ammo piles?

things got really amazing when we gained a commander who UAV'd A the entire game. the map was just orange...orange everywhere.

I really like it though. the battles feel way more intese and frantic, and you can really clean up points-wise by going all-out rambo for suppression.

Shotgun experience. To confirm to yourself, play an entire round with only an AR / M26 MASS combo, making sure to get at least one kill or assist with the attachment, and then don't mash skip on the XP count-up on the post-game screen. You'll see shotgun XP.

Tuna, the Muse posted:

It slowly regenerates ammo like an MBT cannon. (The mortar is actually surfaced as an emplaced vehicle, rather than an equipment, in this game's stats tracking.)

Yeah, it wasn't obvious to me either. After several runs, I figured it out. The bomber is basically a big mortar. You aim at targets within the bomber's limited field of fire and can individually launch four cluster bombs. A blue tag should pop up where you aimed, indicating the general vicinity of where each cluster will strike. Within several seconds you should see bombs streaking toward and detonating at the designated areas. After you've launched all four bombs, you have to wait for them to reload.

I played conquest on altai range, and I think the bomber is in the air long enough to get about 2 or 3 reloads, depending on how early you fire.

Also, I'm loving the F2000, just feels so good. I can spray fart kids at close range, or manually burst at long range. It's a cool looking gun, too. Need to give the L85A2 some love though, is it pretty beast?

DICE posted:

We are now rolling out the new PS4 game update. You might be booted from ongoing games before you can reconnect to the new server versions that are rolling out at the same time. Change notes below.

NOTE: This small patch was pushed live as quickly as possible to deal primarily with the "one-hit kill" bug. We are already working on the next PS4 update that will contain more fixes and have a bigger focus on game stability. Stay tuned.

Dec 5 PS4 Game Update Notes
-Fixed the "one-hit kill" bug where damage from a single bullet sometimes was applied multiple times. This could lead to firefights where normal rifles sometimes dealt one-shot kills, which is not as designed.
-Fixed a crash that could occur when having a very large amounts of Friends
-Enabled audio in PS4 video captures

Hopefully this reduces the crashing? But who knows, I only have 50-60 friends I think so I don't think the "very large amount" would be that low.
