Sometimes, there's a man, well, he's the man for his time and place. He fits right in there. And that's Jimmy T.
Well that is unfortunate about the venues but I won't let that sour my mood.

I am also living in Sacramento right now and know exactly how you feel about it being an EDM wasteland. I think the last real show I saw here was Cazzette at District 30 and that venue blows.

The only music dude I know in Sac is DJ Whores and I think he does some promotion up there too. Maybe follow him on twitter or something?

Overwerk just released a new 4 song EP. Pay what you want or nothing for it here http://overwerk.bandcamp.com/album/conquer .

Super pissed I was out of the country last month when he did a bunch of shows around Ontario. Has anyone had a chance to see one of his shows?

He was in France not so long ago but he went to the middle of nowhere so yeah no shows for me neither. The new EP is amazing though, Force is particularly empowering.

I didn't know 1015 Folsom had joined the list of horrible venues in SF. Last time I was there, that place was still pretty interesting, and still allowed smoking inside, which is a nice rarity in California.

Public Works is, by far, my favorite club in that city. They also bring in great talent - Seth Troxler this weekend, for example. I've also heard great things about Monarch and their famous soundsystem, but I have yet to make it there. Ruby Skye is totally awful nowadays, but sometimes you can have a good night there. If it's an 18+ show it's a terrible place.

Someday I need to move to the bay. Sacramento, where I'm currently located, is an EDM desert. It kills me.

Speaking of Seth, has anyone here seen him? I'm pretty excited to catch him for my first time this weekend.

Last time I went to 1015 back in 2006 or so guy got shot so take that for what you will.

Honestly dude you'll be fine. Dopo just sounds like he's chasing the dragon a bit (sorry Dopo )

The crowds there are your typical scene and be scene types so it can be easy to be like "this is so over!" but for babby's first clubbing or whatever just have a good time.

The show at ruby skye was pretty awesome. It wasn't jam packed with people which made it easy to dance even close to the stage.

Topher Jones opened for MP and it was really depressing because there weren't many people there at the time (it being Thanksgiving). Me and the girl I was with ended up convincing a group of people we were talking with upstairs to start the dance floor and then everyone kinda joined in. It was great seeing the smile on Topher's face as everyone started dancing.

Morgan Page was great and played a fantastic set and the 3D show was actually really cool. My only complaint would be that sometimes the visuals could be a little distracting from the music. I mean there were jellyfish floating around at some point and I caught myself just staring at them haha. Pretty unique experience but I don't think it's something I would enjoy at repeated shows.

Really looking forward to Oliver on Friday. Has anyone seen them live before? Classixx and Shy Girls are opening and I don't know too much about them.

U-Tern is a DJ's DJ. If you like their sound, you'll probably enjoy his set (if it's just him). If they're doing a live set, I don't know what to expect. I've heard Classixx is sleepy live.

I've fallen for Flume really really hard. Everything about his music is exactly up my alley etc etc...

His side project was mentioned a while ago, but it fell off my radar for some reason. A couple new tracks are out by What So Not, the side project of Flume and Emoh Instead... and good god it's good.

My current favorite: https://soundcloud.com/whatsonot/what-so-not-touched
It samples a sample that VAST (on a track called Touched!) used in his first album from 1998 to good effect. The "drop" is nicely understated.

The newest track here: https://soundcloud.com/whatsonot/jaguar-original-mix
It's got the bass drop that kids seem to love nowadays, but it's subdued like the last one so I don't hate it.

Yeah Love Juice is probably my favorite remix he's done, and I remember blasting that poo poo in my car in like '08 or '09 or whenever that came out.

That one and Revolte At 22h10. Holy poo poo does that one rule.

I want him to release an album of all the best stuff he's done so far and more like Kavinsky did, then tour the globe so I can finally see him live with his black mask and everything. His music sounds like it would transition seamlessly into a club setting, like crowds would go nuts for this stuff. I wonder what's holding him back.

Revolte is a superb track as is my screen name. I've been lucky enough to catch him 3 times over here in the UK, first in Bristol, a year Later in Manchester and then for his 'new live show' in Paris. I thought he was as good a reason as any to finally see that city. He was superb every single time so I really hope you get a chance to see him live at some point soon, I've no idea what his deal is regarding release schedules and weird side projects... I really loved the tunes he did for that ainamted interactive film about smoking, the track he made for the club scene sounded amazing and yet we've never heard it outside of that.

Oh Danger, why do you tease?

I'm hoping this is the right thread for this, but I'm really starting to get into Glitch-Hop. I discovered it on accident while browsing internet radio stations and really got a kick out of it because it's scratching all the right spots for me – strong hook, elaborate instrumentation, great synths, effects up the wazoo and more. I still know next to nothing about the genre (such as prominent artists etc) but I'm listening to compilations and so far I heard some really cool stuff.

For examples, Subvert by Au5 & Fractal and Polka Dot Bop by Pistol Shrimp is what I've been enjoying the most so far.
