They've sent armies upon armies into these hives, and mankind has been reduced to 1 billion people or so. 5/6ths of mankind's population have been wiped out fighting these things. MUVLUV SPOILER: Our protagonist is not an exception either. No, it's not doing the whole "it was all a dream" spiel. Don't watch the anime. The anime is poo poo and is actually based on a spin-off called Total Eclipse. The only thing it has going for it is the first opening. Don't watch it. I would recommend getting the game, but if you are not on Windows, you might be kinda out of luck. It's a bitch to work with, otherwise, we could probably have made the all-ages version available, which I do believe has multiplatform release.

Grim reminder of Japan yadda yadda So, being one of those "watched the anime and skipped straight to where the manga picked back up" is there any kind of place I could see what changed between the anime/manga adaption? I'm sure someone has done it. I've seen here and there that some Armin scenes were swapped with Mikasa and I'm wondering if the differences were only in the anime's last 2 episodes or if there are other moments in the other 30 odd chapters. I also know that Levi got to take some others' lines and scenes but weren't as different (or so I've been vaguely told). I kind of question why some of these swaps were made but I won't lose any sleep over not having an answer. Also is there a consensus to the dramatic spinoffs(?) and if they're worth a read or not? Forgive me if these questions have been asked already as well, this is a monster of a thread.

This is around chapter 30. The differences between them are for the most part irrelevent until that point. There is some new stuff thrown in like Rico Brzenska telling Eren the names of the people who are going to die for him, and some things taken out like the end of Eren's training sequence with Annie. It's unfortunate they took that specific scene out because it showed Annie's real personality and why her and Eren have tons of mutual respect for one another. In one timeline yes, but the Earth is basically destroyed. Most of the worlds oceans are turned to salty wastelands with hosed up physics, but the BETA on Earth are basically gone. However, there's BETA colonies on Mars and the Moon that are way more developed than any of the ones on Earth were, so if they decide to close in on Earth it's over. A colony ship was sent from Earth, though, and it's implied it found a habitable planet. In the main timeline, it hasn't gotten to that, but they probably will beat the BETA. If I understand correctly, MuvLuv has a great story, but not great enough to sell on its own merits, so they added pedobait? Or is it just pedo fodder with above average writing for the genre? How come there's no porn-free translated version if pretty much all they would need to do is cut some of the already translated VN?

I'm not really a vn guy but from what I understand they're almost universally PC games, and PC games in japan implies a certain kind of customer. A goon, basically. So they market to them.
