The thought experiment
Suppose that the whole nation of China was reordered to simulate the workings of a single brain (that is, to act as a mind according to functionalism). The current mental state of China brain is displayed on satellites that may be seen from anywhere in China. If the nation of China can be made to act in this way, then, according to functionalism, this system would have a mind. Consciousness
The China brain argues that consciousness is a problem for functionalism. Block's Chinese nation presents a version of what is known as the absent qualia objection to functionalism because it purports to show that it's possible for something to be functionally equivalent to a human being and yet have no conscious experience. A creature that functions like a human being but doesn't feel anything is known as a "philosophical zombie". So the absent qualia objection to functionalism could also be called the "zombie objection".

Criticisms
Some philosophers, like Daniel Dennett, have concluded that the China brain does create a mental state.[3] Functionalist philosophers of mind endorse the idea that something like the China brain can realise a mind, and that neurons are, in principle, not the only material that can create a mental state.[5]

Something weird is going on in this article. If you look at the Season 8 part of the article, you'll notice that the Season 8 episode list is not under that header, instead it is under the next header, Home Releases. Initially I opted to use my preferred method of editing, source code, as I thought this was a simple matter of the list being placed in the wrong section of the article. Upon going into source editing, however, I found that the list did indeed seem to be under the Season 8. Couldn't figure out what the problem was, so I decided to give VisualEditor a shot. Since I have very little experience with VisuelEditor, I had very little idea of what to do. I couldn't copy and paste the episode list, and wasn't even sure how to make a new one either. In the end I opted to simply delete the "Home Releases" header above the Season 8 Episode list and make and make a new one below. After doing this, everything seemed to look the way it should while in VisualEditor, but after I saved it, everything after Season 6 on the article was deleted and I got the following was at the bottom in red text "Cite error: There are <ref> tags on this page, but the references will not show without a

i was told by a tall african man of african descent at an informational meeting at the mariott for a ponzi sales scheme involving 45 dollar bottles of nonfermented fruit juice that the mangosteen was indeed the queen of all fruit. like if a fruit class had a queen class, my tastebuds would be registering all over spectrum of fruitiness, but the free paper shotglass sample of xango did not hit me like a gushers commercial.
