According to this panel, they tried to be a lot more diligent this year about outlining episodes ahead of time, but that Harmon threw out their plans for 504 just before they were going to assign a writer to it. It turned out pretty well for a rush job.

"If a COVID-19 pandemic occurs, public health officials may have additional instructions, such as avoiding close contact with others as much as possible, and staying home if someone in your household is sick." - Official insights from Public Health: Seattle & King County staff

Something I didn't realize about the Cooperative Polygraphy episode - who owns https://www.prenatalpatriots.org

It turns out that Sony Pictures does.

WHOIS info right here: http://whois.net/whois/prenatalpatriots.org

Probably smart to register that pre-emptively, so that a fan couldn't register it right when the episode airs.

However, if they don't make a prenatal army soon, I will be sorely disappointed. Fetuses, attack!

Am I odd for liking 504 more than 505? I dunno, I guess I just love bottle episodes. I could watch like 20 episodes of these 6 (well now 5) characters just bounce off each other because they're so witty and hilarious. I was still impressed just because 505 looked so amazing visually, but it didn't like make my top 5 like Modern Warfare or Epidemiology. I'm not sure why.

That's actually a pretty standard move for fictional URLs. NBC's usual practice is to make them redirect to the show's page. I think it's for legal reasons, to shield the show from appearing to endorse a site.

I agree completely. For me, the show has always been at its best when they just put the characters in a room together. The show has great writing and a fantastic cast, but with some of the big concept episodes, it feels like those things gets overshadowed by the gimmicks. I was really impressed by the first paintball episode, but after that it feels like they've just been trying to recapture the magic. And I can't really understand why, except maybe it gets boring for them if they don't mix in a big concept episode every once in a while.

That's interesting, to me it felt like there were serious (and unusual) problems with the writing in the latest episode. If the writing process was rushed, that would go a long ways towards explaining it.

So I live in Jacksonville, FL and they're preempting Community tonight to air a special about the Michael Dunn trial. Dunn is a racist rear end in a top hat who murdered a 17-year old kid at a gas station for not turning the music down in his SUV.

Diminishing returns in effect. 505 was well done, but 504 was inventive.

I agree, the bottle episodes are the best, especially the first bottle episode with Abed complaining about it. I even think the Puppet episode last season stands out as one of the best of the season and in terms of tone and writing would have fit in fine with season 2 or 3.

I'm glad someone out there likes the puppet episode. I think it's one of the worst in the entire show's run.
