You did the right thing, though. I had to do that with my old dog Toby years ago.

I had a few errands to run first thing this morning and left Dakota out of his kennel to see how he'd do. He slept on my ottoman the whole time. When I came in he promptly jumped onto one of the sections of my couch and perched up on the back like a drat cat.

I tried to get a good picture of him walking along the edge, but it's next to impossible with this dog.

My parents have a 200lb St Bernard rescue. Chill as hell, but loving hates any and all other dogs with a passion. One of their neighbor's Great Danes got loose and was farting around in their yard until she destroyed him with running headbutts.

I wish there was a video of it.
