For what you would spend on an XBONE and Forza you could buy a Logitech G27 and a large amount of iRacing tracks. The DW-12 oval version is supposed be released by the Indy 500 and driving it will actually be realistic

Let's say, they work things out with MIS (unlikely but let's pretend). You know how have all 4 (designed for Indy) Super Speedways on the calender. Which do you use for the Triple Crown of 500 milers?

FuzzySkinner posted:http://blogs.windsorstar.com/2014/04/09/indycar-talk-heats-up-again-as-nascar-tests-at-mis/ Any talk of IndyCar at MIS makes me And if they bring back MIS it would only make sense to make the Triple Crown into a Grand Slam of the 4 tracks.

The Triple Crown from 1971 to 1980 was Pocono, Indy, and Ontario. When Ontario closed, Michigan replaced it, from 1980 to 1989. Fontana was then built a few miles away from the old Ontario site. From a history perspective, they both have pretty strong claims to a Triple Crown spot I guess. If they do go to Michigan, they will probably leave it as Indy, Pocono, and Fontana and run Michigan as a 400 miler I would imagine. I'm sure the teams wouldn't really enjoy running 4 500 milers, especially after the crashes and engine booms at Fontana last year, ha.

With that repave, the engines would be run that much harder, parts put under more stress. If it was to race 300 - 400 mile sprint race should be interesting. Wish there was a way to give copy Fontana's pavement on to Michigan... or ISC didn't repave the thing for some goddamn reason.

He's very bashful about his race car background. He only mentions it when he's not staring at his phone, or when he's trying to get some prime convention hostess tail instead of assisting me with checking for room keys on New Years. His extra weight is key to his real success; we all know lacking downforce at a critical moment can negatively affect performance. To counter this, at his overnight shift at work, you'd typically find him eating 3-4 plates of food on a 30 minute break just to maintain his physique; race weekends would really take a toll so sometimes he'd just have leftover EDR cheesecake.

gret posted:Did you know he was ChampCar racing legend Mark Plourde when you started working with him? Did any other co-worker of his know about this? Well I was kinda miffed my first new years eve in 2009-2010; if you didn't know the strip gets loving NUTS on new years... I was posted with this guy and still relatively new. Instead of helping me with a literal mob of people going up from their rooms, he wandered off to the nearby convention area. I bitched about it after the night was over and one of my co workers pulled me aside. He quietly said, "Don't you know who that is, rookie? That's racing champ Mark Plourde!" I'm pretty awful with names and celebrities (I kept the guy who replaced Iron Man's heart from his room that very night) so I took it at face value. I asked, "What kind of racing?" Thinking it would be drag our some bush league, and my friend said, "IndyCar... isn't that right Mark?" Mark, standing down the hall, turned around, and hadn't been listening. "What's that?" He asked. "What do you do for real aside from this?" "Oh I drive IndyCar." Yeah, present tense. Drive.

Stefan Wilson is good peeps. He caught two twitter buds of mine criticizing Cavin for calling him a fan favorite. He chimes in, and offers them a pace car ride around the speedway this may. Owns. ... Also, we gotta find more owners for this sport. Hopefully Walker and Miles are on top of that.
