anyone trying to go to next years BPM festival?

I went this year and will probably try to go again next year, get the VIP wrist bands as they are a hundred percent worth it (skipping the line and in/out privileges were worth the cost in itself), I managed to rent a place between Calle 5/Calle 10 for about 1500 for 11 nights, and I was within walking distance (<10min) of all events, only split it with my girlfriend but could have easily fit 4 people. Having gone to Ibiza in the summer I'd say BPM compared very favourably, defiantly budget to spend a bit more than you expect though, it's Mexico but it is a very touristy area (food is cheap as long as you walk off the main strip, but booze inside the clubs and stuff like that is as expensive as anywhere else).

Sharkjumping aside I reminded myself this evening that Oliver Lieb actually made a lot of great techy tracks once you sort through all the full on trance stuff... Especially the LSG Black Series stuff is just great. Post your pre-Y2K favorites?

Honestly if it wasn't for the tech-house bassline, Ben Klock would play this. As it is, nobody that matters pays too much attention to m_nus/plus 8, so i dont care at all. Even if Ostgut ton somehow released something by deadmau5 under some alias, I'd be fine with it, if only bc i trust their A&R.

Thanks! it's not as 'hard' as I usually play but I wanted to give a larger cross section of the stuff I've been digging lately. The new White Material one is especially great, and I'll never stop playing that Ricardo remix.

Felt like posting this old classic from 95 with Ron Trent and Chez Damier:

Probably one of fav deep tracks of all times, still sounds relevant I think and could be slipped into pretty much any set today without feeling off.

I'm pretty big into Drexciya atm. Detroit electro/techno, and their stuff is genius.

Two of my faves:

Drexciya - Black Sea. one of the more techno/dancefloor oriented tracks
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFT9nx_NIXYp

Der Zyklus - Formenverwandler - a slightly later solo project by one of the guys from Drexciya. A bit more mellow

Seems to be kind of that Carl Cox big room techno/tech-house sound. Not really what I'm into personally but it's cool that DM is experimenting (<-closet DM fan).

Btw, I have two new techno podcasts/radio shows on my soundcloud if anyone is interested: https://soundcloud.com/ttinga.

This WMC sure loving sucked. Every party was way beyond capacity and $9 beers turned me off completely. Thank god for flasks and Jack Daniels.

Here's Ida Engberg b2b Adam Beyer from the Enter. Miami party. This was kind of one of the better ones, if you are totally cool with being in a room with no ventilation sweating balls and not being able to see half of the lineup because they're in a tiny garden fit for 400 people.

OK, it wasn't that bad. But still, next year I am getting the gently caress away from the city and putting my place on AirBNB or something

I really liked the Ben Klock remix when I heard it in his fabric mix. I don't know that I'd ever buy it though, if only because - at least for me - I can only think of the ben klock fabric cd. I mean, I imagine that he made the edit / remix on his own for the fabric cd (like he did with the burial track) and then they asked him if he'd be willing to release it, etc.
