Besides being one of the worst manual drivers I've ever seen, he strikes me as the type of guy who'd spend a ton of money to get "hot laps" instead of actually learning how to drive.

Edit - Welp, I didn't bother looking in the description before, but it looks like I just proved myself right.

City coach operators do compete in the annual Roadeo:

I had a blast in mine. Apparently they've changed the rules now, but I figured out you could blast through the course at top speed and smack several cones while still getting a lot of points. The year I went to the state competition, I was the fastest driver by 20-25 seconds. Now accuracy counts considerably more than speed.

He had the clutch floored at 3:57 and he was pumping it hard. It looks more like a mechanical issue to me. If I had to guess I'd say bad slave cylinder, had the exact same thing happen in a 1g Eclipse. He's still a lovely driver, but the car doesn't belong on a track either.

I suspected it was a mechanical problem. I haven't had experience dealing with such issues, but trying to jam it in would be the last thing I'd do (not sure what should be done other than get the car off the road/track.)

From the video description:

Me and MR2 gen 3 turbo time attack at melaka international circuit(MIMC)

1st lap was a warm up and the 2 following laps were flying lap time attack

I clocked a novice time off 1 minute 14 seconds. Overall it was a great day but i was unable to push my car to the limits due to clutch having air in the system and undercarriage scraping issues

3s-gte 245 gen 3
Greddy ECU
SARD R2D2 Blow off valve
TRD ori forged racing 17inch rims
Walbro racing fuel pump
Custom turbo back exhaust
Exedy fiber Racing clutch and housing
Turbosmart Boost controller
Takata Racing harness 5 and 4 point
Gen 3 brake pump
Racing drilled and slotted brake rotors
Turboback Custom exhaust with dual tips
Buddy Club adjustable racing coilover suspension

So one mystery partially solved. Doesn't explain why he kept driving it around the track.

That's almost (not really) V8 Supercar levels of contact. Is it usually like that with IndyCar? I get that the track damage could have contributed but I don't really watch open wheel races and certainly not Indy.

Accidentally posted this in the dash cam thread instead of this one, but really it works both places I guess...

I'm fairly sure that the Red - Red/Yellow - Green sequence was put into some document as a huge joke by a traffic engineer, and management accepted it as is and then wouldn't reverse the decision when the engineer came clean about the joke.

Every single video has at least one, and often multiple, crashes caused because every driver in Russia seems to think it's a pretty good idea to jump the light based on that yellow, while every driver in Russia also think's that it's a pretty good idea to blast through an intersection at full speed just as the light is turning red from green (or even within a few seconds after it turns red). Many collisions ensue as these two mindsets meet in the intersection.

Our city went one better in the CBD and installed countdown timers for pedestrians to get off the road.

They stupidly didn't leave a gap from when the countdown hits zero and the traffic lights turn green.
