I want to watch Bianca and Adore take a road trip across America in character. It'll be like Oprah and Gayle's road trip, but we'll be laughing with them, not at them.

As for the looks:

-Does anyone else think Adore could serve up Monica Lewinsky realness? Monica got a cover article in Junes Vanity Fair; she's back in the zeitgeist (somewhat). And Adore can make blowjob jokes till her little heart explodes.
-Bianca looks funereal
-Courtney looks a lot better with darker lipstick
-Laganja looks like Chloe Sevigny when she smiles. And she can't pose.
-LATRICE! ...and Madame LaQueer. Given how great Latrice looks, putting their pictures next to each other is kinda mean, no?
-Chad and Morgan Michaels look pretty awesome. Great makeup on both of them. Is Chad Morgan's drag mother?
-Ongina's "Little boy in drag" might be my favorite look of them all. She's the lipstick-iest lesbian in the room.

I think of all the drag queens that have graced the stage of RuPaul's drag race Ongina is my #1 favorite forever if only because she's so loving cute as a little lady boy gender gently caress queen.

I don't know, to me the nosering kinda makes the whole thing!
Tom and Lorenzo have also already posted a quick rundown of the red carpet. Gotta love that their comment on Gia Gunn basically is "Dude in a dress". And I guess calling Magnolia Crawford's look "Gay Bingo Drag" is supposed to be an insult, but I still think the look's hilarious.

I don't know if any of you guys care much about the drag scene outside of the US, but I just thought I'm mention that a very talented queen by the name of Conchita Wurst sang on Eurovision tonight for her home country of Austria. She pretty much has stole the show and won the whole thing with massive support from populace votes and a juried vote as well.

Kind of lazy from a drag standpoint - he looks like a guy in a dress - and his high note was always the same. He didn't even change it for the last note. It's definitely cool from a culture and acceptance standpoint that he won the popular vote in so many countries, though.

I think going a fishy route with a beard is not a common thing but my experience of drag is very shallow so it might be more popular than I know. I don't have an opinion on the singing but don't you think dressing up as a bearded lady is pretty bold, conceptually?

The beard looks gimmicky and glued on, honestly this would have been just as glorious without it (and you know I love my bearded ladies).

It's worth noting that a transexual has already won it way back in 1998.

I don't equate drag with fishiness, but in the linked video he looked like a dude who hastily put on a dress. The glam shot posted in this thread was better, but I still don't have much of an idea of who he is.

Good for him nevertheless, but I don't get creative genderfuck or artistic vibes from this one - I get Courtney Act "I couldn't make it past the first round as a guy so I put on this dress" vibes, even if that isn't the case. He's a much better singer than Courtney, though.

Sorry, I shouldn't assume what people think of as drag but I keep coming across people who are in the Gia Gunn school of drag thought where fish is the purpose and it's like ugh.

Someone on reddit posted links to all the sections of the recap in order, ad-free, in an html cut-and-paste format; the media source is Logotv's own page so I don't think it's :filez: but I sure didn't see them listed on the site when I looked.

Anyway, here it is if you're in a hurry.

I really liked this season's recap format; it seemed heavier on prior season queen's commentary and much less canned 'skit' stuff than I remember from last year's, at the least.

Music video kicked rear end like none of the other videos have. The top 4 all looked amazing. Really feel like this is the most consistently solid, fun, funny season since Season 1 (which can never be duplicated or topped in my book). Adore and Courtney are going to get so many bookings after the season finishes and they deserve every one of them.

Bianca won't be getting any bookings right after the season finishes, since she'll be busy furnishing her new apartment she got with the $100,000. :smug:

The Drag Race separates the queens who do TV well and who have charisma from the ones who don't. Taking the popular, camera ready ones who have risen to the top of the show and people's hearts is brilliant. World of Wonder now has a whole
stable of Big TV Personalities that just keep getting better and better as they accumulate on-camera experience. I know Drag U wasn't a big hit, but if World of Wonder don't put together another kind of Drag Revue TV show, it's a lost opportunity.

I've only ever watched the episode of Drag U with Willam as a professor; I came late to Drag Race and haven't gone back to watch the rest of that yet due to lower interest in those queens. That said, I like the idea of it and I'd love to see some of the queens I favor from seasons 4-6 taking a crack at it, for sure. Plus, Lady Bunny needs TV time.
