I'd rank what I saw as follows: The Saddest Landscape (totally wild) Captain, We're Sinking Empire! Empire! Dads Secret Grief Bane Alaska Old Gray (I spent half of their set just trying to get in the room) The Menzingers Self Defense Family Little Big League (wandered in. They were decent.) Rescuer The Fever Haze (local act that I wandered in for two songs by). Picked up some shirts from Old Gray and the Saddest Landscape and a pin from Captain, We're Sinking, and I had some nice conversations with members of all three--that's the kind of thing I think Bled Fest is all about. I also talked to the singer from Secret Grief, because he was wearing a Melt hat, and Melt is the greatest restaurant in the world. Wished I could've made it to Cruel Hand and Tiny Moving parts, but I wanted something chiller when Cruel Hand was going and Bane was one band that I went specifically for. I also heard that the Knuckle Puck crowd was insane, but I don't know anything about them. Old Gray and The Saddest Landscape had so much fan action on stage it was unbelievable. Overall I think last year's was the best that I've been to (four years in a row now, although I was only briefly at the 2012 one), but I had a great time.

Glad to hear The Saddest Landscape got a good crowd. Last time I saw them there were like a dozen people there and I was the only one singing along. Really nice dudes too.

Andy Maddox said anyone could go up and scream into the mic if they knew the words and it led to him losing the microphone to a crowd of like eight people at once. That's why I love Stage C. I took a photo and they retweeted it. I also talked to their guitarist and bassist, who were disappointed that I didn't like Pantera.

I missed Empire! Empire! to go to Stage A, I'm a little bummed I missed them. Also Youth Novel (local skramz band) was playing their EP they just put out (which is solid, would recommend) but also missed them as my friends wanted to take off. Bit of a bummer. I looked at some of the lineups of past Bled Fests and it makes me wish I'd have gone to those. The World Is, La Dispute, and Tigers Jaw would have been great to see.

TWIABP are one of the best performances I've ever seen there. They made the mistake of putting them on Stage C at 3 p.m. Whenever, If Ever had just leaked and it was packed. Defeater, Every Time I Die, CityCop, Code Orange Kids, Pianos Become the Teeth and an incredibly out of place Scale the Summit are also up there.

Mongol Horde released their album yesterday. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FOoo6D0Wes It's a bit good. Also it's nice to hear Frank Turner getting back to being angry in front of some noisy instruments instead of producing stadium singalong folk rock.

The new Trap Them record leaked a few days ago, it's pretty sick. Between this, the latest Young and in the Way and Enabler LPs dropping recently, it's a good week for hardcore.

I had never heard of Graf Orlock until they were posted in this thread by a slime. I decided to check out their entire discography and I really wish I would have learned about them sooner. Literally everything they have out loving rips. Their absolute overuse of movie sound clips is so perfect and they even incorporate some of the lines into their lyrics. You can tell those guys are having a blast playing.nomapple posted:Anyway, if you don't have enough 90s metalcore in your life, the new Renounced album is pretty great: http://carrytheweightrecords.bandcamp.com/album/the-melancholy-we-ache This stuff rules. Really nice to see modern bands carrying the torch for a classic sound. Reminds me of As Darkness Falls, Adamantium and skycamefalling.

I don't hate Graf Orlock, but they're definitely kinda same-y and generic riffwise, but with a good use of samples as punctuation. Destination Time Tomorrow is pretty great, though. And their packaging is top notch.
