For Mexican hot sauces, I actually like Valentina the best, and it is hilariously cheap. Like, less than a dollar for a 20oz bottle here in Texas.

Since I bought a bottle of this on a whim a few weeks ago I've found myself reaching for it over my other bottles every single time. I wish it was a tiny bit hotter but the flavour, consistency and colour are all just perfect. I think it's my go-to red hot sauce now.

I encourage children who are bullied to kill themselves. In fact, I get off to it. Pedophilia-snuff films are the best. More abused children need to kill themselves.
I went to Berlin last week and they had a whole store dedicated to hot sauce from around the world right near Alexanderplatz, definitely worth a look.

Flying Goose brand sriracha is better than the "original" Huy Fong Rooster brand.

Uses Scotch Bonnet Peppers but it's made almost exactly like this habanero sauce from a taco truck in Ft. Worth called Salsa Limon

Picamas
Central American hot sauce, good on everything.

San Luis
Amazing on tacos with a dash of El Yucateco for more heat.

Also, after looking at my hot sauce stash, I think I have a problem:

Maybe subconsciously. It is pretty good but I usually try to use Duff's instead, although it is a bit pricey.

I checked the brand on the bottle and it's flying goose brand, so perhaps the one I liked was the original.

Other than that I like the Texas Pete sauce the OP posted, I always buy it from the US shelf in the local supermarket.

That's the only one I'll use. The regular one just tastes like chili powder with no heat at all. The extra hot version though isn't really all that hot at all but it adds just enough heat to make it right.

been moving so didn't have any of my cooking poo poo with me, but needed dinner. bought a roasted chicken, some veg, and this mustard sauce : http://www.numnumsauce.com/ from a fancy grocery for an impromptu dinner. just got the normal, not the spicy one, as its all they had.

it's a pretty tasty mustard sauce. not as acidic, salty, or spicy as I like my mustard sauce, but the basic flavor is there, and it's from a Carolina producer. I'd order a bottle for 6 bux if you just don't know what you're even aiming for. maybe go for the hot.

This stuff is great. It's a little too spicy as a primary condiment, but I put some of it in ketchup, mustard, and salad dressing. A vinaigrette with this mixed in at about 1 part in 8 is the best salad dressing.

Although it doesn't qualify as a sauce, I've been putting togarashi on just about everything for awhile. It's a blend of dried chiles, sansho, orange peel, sesame seeds and ginger. It's loving amazing and I'm pretty close to cutting scarface sized lines of it on a plate and calling it dinner.

Valentina is pretty good. I like just dumping it on corn chips. Lately I've been guzzling some minor ghetto brand of yellow jamaican scotch bonnet pepper sauce (ingredients: peppers, vinegar, sugar, water, salt, corn starch, misc preservatives) on everything. Hard boiled eggs, especially.

Honestly, it's not a dick-measuring contest. I mean, there are plenty of examples of "really-not-that-hot" hot sauces in this thread that people love. Most people aren't Texan chili-heads and want something that includes good flavor without cauterizing their tongue.

Edit: If you want a real joke, go to Jack In The Box and get their "Jack's Blazin' Chicken Sandwich" topped with "ghost pepper ranch sauce." Saw that and thought "I'll believe that when I see it." Sure enough, same 320 Scoville units that you get with every other "spicy" fast food offering on the planet.

I was getting at the fact that it's mass market corporate stuff more than anything else. I assumed it would be considered bland at best by most people who are really into hot sauce - taste wise as well as heat wise.

Similar answer then - whether it's chili heads or food snobs, don't let people drive you away from what you like for no good reason. Hell, I like the regular Tabasco on some things; it's a good way to brighten up bitter veggies like Chard for one.

I also like it in a vinaigrette where it will bring some spice and not compete with the other seasoning.

I'll second Dunn's River. Its hot, its reasonably flavourful and its less than a pound a bottle. Sriricha I've only managed to find once and it was nice in a 'chilli-ketchup' way.

My go-to table sauce is Aunt May's Bajan Pepper Sauce. I also enjoy the Maggi Chilli Garlic Sauce which is similar to sriracha but my fiance complains constantly about garlic breath when I eat it.

A warning to El Yucateco fans: Their sauce has been found to contain a bit more lead than we really want to put in our bodies and lead is not a thing to take lightly http://news.unlv.edu/article/study-hidden-dangers-hot-sauce
