Will Yatagarasu be the first time a Japanese-developed fighting game was on PC, on Steam, and used GGPO? "It's just like Third Strike" isn't exactly what I like to hear about a new game, but I kind of burnt out on Skullgirls a while ago and I'd support almost any game that met the above criteria on general principle. Also is there a character who plays like Makoto?

What exactly is Yatagarasu bringing other than being sold on Steam? I played it against a guy a while ago and had no problems. Is there going to be some sort of matchmaking / lobby system so you don't have to trawl forums / IRC for players?

I was looking at Cassie Cage and her model looks really off for some reason. I'm not demanding that all the characters look like cookie cutter porn stars, but Cassie looks like a Stretch Armstrong doll.

The complaint I keep hearing is that either her head is too big or her body is too small. I guess it's NRS trying to make a teenage/collage age fighter, and missing the mark. At least D'Vorah looks cool. Definitely my favorite newcomer so far.

Pro tip, nobody in the Karnov's Revenge lobby on GGPO is playing Karnov's. Supercade has 3S too, I doubt it has half as many people looking for matches but I prefer Supercade to GGPO in general.

I could care less about cumshots and snuff films, I just wish that MK games actually played good. They can put in as many boobs and decapitations as they want, it would just be nice if they weren't janky as all gently caress. Let's be honest, the over the top violence was Mortal Kombat's top selling point since day one. Nobody bought Mortal Kombat going "hey, this game has pretty graphics, good controls and gameplay mechanics", they pumped quarters into the machine because "HOLY poo poo THAT GUY JUST RIPPED OUT THAT DUDE'S SPINE HOLY gently caress THAT'S AWESOME"

For as much as I've been making GBS threads on MK, I did actually like MK9's story mode and has fun with it as a single player game. To be fair, everything about the game was pretty good... except for the actual animations and gameplay. For a fighting game, that's pretty damning. I'll probably get MK X used for cheap once it goes down to like $10-15. I'll often buy crappier poverty games just for shits and giggles and loving around, just not for serious competitive play. I still have stuff like MK9, SFxT, DBZ Budokai collection, Godzilla: Save the Earth, Castlevania Judgement... I even have Dong Dong Never Die downloaded for laughs.

The only real difference between MK9 and Injustice for meter stuff was one extra EX move. In both cases, under normal circumstances, you can only combo break once per meter filling.
