How's House of Blues Boston as a venue? I'm thinking of checking out Meshuggah tomorrow.

Don't think about checking out Meshuggah just go. They are the most important band of their generation and they're tight as a nun's chuff live.

Not a whole lot really, unless you count spawning an endless wave of chugga djent bands? And I do like them, but most important of a generation?

I missed Meshuggah while waiting in the wrong line about 12 years ago when they were with Tool in Montreal. It's going to be a good time, but I never really listened to between the buried and me(same show) so should I go in blind or listen to a bit tomorrow? It's kinda nice, Meshuggah and Isis were the only two must see bands on my long time list. Obviously Isis is out, but whatever. I went to the BTBAM/Meshuggah show at The Wiltern in LA and the synchronized light show that went along with the music made me truly understand what epilepsy must be like. Go see it if you actually do have epilepsy and want to actually die.

Meshuggah was awesome but Kidman seemed like he was losing his voice at times but finished strong. Straws Pulled at Random is one of the best live songs I've ever heard and was worth the price of admission alone. About as good as the Journey concert I saw last week. Between the Buried and Me is really talented but it's just not my thing, really. They had a few songs I enjoyed though.

GUYS. Not only is Tim Lambesis convicted of hiring a hitman to kill his wife but he's been lying to us the whole time. He's not a Christian. http://christiannews.net/2014/06/18/convicted-heavy-metal-christian-singer-admits-being-atheist-duped-fans-to-sell-music/

Didn't see anyone self aware enough to think that maybe, just maybe, there are people in the world who exploit their need for everything to be all Jesus-y to make easy money off of easy marks. I do kinda hope this ends up with Lambesis becoming a much shittier Varg and declaring that guitars are a Christian instrument so he's going to exclusively compose metal on double reeds or whatever.

Kinda surprised more people don't do that (and who knows maybe they're all faking it) since the Christian music industry has a ridiculously low barrier to entry and it's about as guaranteed a career as you can get in music.

MrBling posted:It reads like a satire site. Is it actually a serious article? Unfortunately, yeah it's serious. What's hilarious to me is that you have this Christian band whose lead singer gets convicted of hiring a hitman to kill his ex wife and there's no mention of it on the site. No mention of his arrest last year, playing guilty in February, or the conviction. Let's just ignore that our fellow Christian did all those things. Sweep it under the rug and move on, nothing to see here. Now, he comes out as being atheist - holy poo poo everybody that's news. Crucify the bastard. Filed under: Apostasy,Life & Society
