I can refer some people too, however I gave one out to someone here (ZigMoose, I think?) and it hasn't been redeemed yet. So yeah...I dunno what's going on with that. However, the credit isn't just a "here's $25 for referring", they want to make sure they have got a new customer out of the deal and not someone just trying the service. If both the referrer and referee keep their bills paid on time for two months straight, then both will get a $25 credit on their respective bills. If one person doesn't pay on time or just drops it before those two months are up, then the credit will no longer work. Also, you have 30 days after receiving a referral code to actually use it. ZigMoose, if you're reading this, you've got like five days left to use the code I sent you.

Nope, customer service can't find my account. I've had a pretty exceptionally poor experience with Cricket so far; the customer service seems powerless. They put me on a temporary data-less flip phone for two weeks to wait for the district manager to fix my account while porting before just giving up and giving me a new number.

So, I got sick of Cricket and tried porting my number back into TMo prepaid. It said it successfully completed the activation and was porting my number, but I can't do ANYTHING with it. I can't create a My TMobile account, can't add funds, can't make calls or send texts, nothing. I thought I was immediately able to do all of those things once the account was created, and I only had to wait until the port was complete to receive messages or calls. Or am I misremembering?

You should get some sort of text message once you are able to sign up.

Someone told me to come here. I'm currently on Tmobile. It's awesome and I wish I could stick with them but I'm moving farther out of town and there's no signal out there. Is Straighttalk on the ATT network good? Will they bitch at me if I use data? Looks like I can get about the same thing I have on Tmobile for the around the same price but with the ATT network. Whereas using ATT would cost me 70 dollars a month.

Whereas using ATT would cost me 70 dollars a month. It was me, I told you to come in here. I didn't wanna poo poo up the Android thread with carrier talk. Some people just really like losing money on contracts whereas others get company phones or huge discounts so whatever, we'll keep our prepaid talk in here. Anyway, how much data do you typically use? That's the main concern. If you know AT&T has good service where you're going. Then you're looking in the right direction, but if you see StraightTalk, and ask "will they bitch at me if I use data?" then apparently you're heard the stories. Yes, they might. Yes, they might throttle you hard for no apparent reason. In place of ST I want to suggest the new Cricket. It's on the AT&T network too, has much better service and most of all, they don't care if you want to burn all your data on Netflix. Prices run like this (with $5 autopay discount and all tax is included): $35/mo Unlimited minutes/SMS and 500mb $45/mo Unllimited minutes/SMS and 2.5gb $55/mo Unlimited minutes/SMS and 5gb Only caveat to this service is capped speeds: 8mb/4mb on LTE/HSPA respectively. To be honest, I haven't even noticed it, everything works when I push the button and loads as quickly as I want it to. I just won't win any bandwidth speed dick measuring competitions But I won't have to deal with the high ping times and network prioritizing I had with ST. Also, Cricket has a good referral plan, $25 for you and the referrer if you stay on for 60 days. I can hook you up as can a few other goons in here who are on Cricket. e: I don't know if you have a family or not, but there's also some pretty good discounts for 3+ lines. I'm a single male goon, so just one line. I'm currently sitting at .88GB used on my data, so I don't really use much. I'll have to check out Cricket especially if they have some sort of military discount.

At this point the port got botched in the system and you'll need to have them re-initiate it. Happened to me going from Verizon to T-Mobile - a combination of putting my Verizon account number in wrong (nothing said to omit the hyphen,) and my new phone not being issued a temporary number caused it to get stuck. After calling them and getting it sorted out, everything was ported over within 2 hours.

Thinking of upgrading from the nokia 521 to the lg black optimus f6, but kinda thinking "enh... I dunno". Pros - Newer phone better camera flash android will presumably be able to get emojis again, which makes sexually harassing the girlfriend with text messages more entertaining cons - will lose nokia radio (which is awesome) battery life is probably shittacular compared to the nokia less memory than the nokia Newegg has a sale on it this weekend, where it's on sale for 105$. I have a budget of about 200$ and use tmobile (on the dork plan), so if someone knows of a better/more awesome phone, lemme know.

Has anyone else here had problems with MMS on AT&T GoPhone? I have tried two different APN settings: Name: ATT APN: wap.cingular Proxy: none Port: none Username and password are blank Server: none Mmsc: http://mmsc.cingular.com Mms proxy: wireless.cingular.com Mms port: 80 Mcc: 310 Mnc: 410 Authentication type: none APN type: default and: APN: pta Proxy: Port: Username: Password: Server: MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net MMS Proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net MMS port: 80 MCC: 310 MNC: 410 Authentication type: APN type: internet And also a third that just uses "Phone" for the APN, but is otherwise identical to the second one. My data connection works fine on LTE for either of those APNs, I just can't send or receive MMS messages to save my life...most of the time. Sometimes, out of the blue, it will just work. The last successful one i sent was Sunday night. Since then, the ones I try to send fail, and the ones people send me have a notice saying they failed, and to click to download, and even if I wait till I'm an an area with full LTE, it will just hang at downloading and then after several minutes, repeat the message that the MMS failed to download.
