Halfway through Season 3 watching all the Untucked episodes as we go. The editing is making this is the most insufferable group of people of all time. I love Raja on the Photo Ruview and Shangela on the Alyssa's Secret guest spots and I know who wins, but god drat I am praying for an alternate reality where they all go home and no one wins.

I'm also in the middle of Season 3, just watched the Patriotic PSA episode. When it aired did anyone call Shangela on her bullshit of "my mom fought in Iraq and Bosnia"? It might just be semantics but there were no female combatants for those two wars (Dessert Storm). She may have served there but it seemed like she was milking the angle is all. Also I hate all these bitches.

Not Dessert Storm. Even if there were no "official" female combatants, women still risked their lives in both of those wars, and women died from enemy actions and were kept as POWs. Having served in the military for a few years, there is a definite difference between "serving in" and "fighting in" a war. My comment was more about Shangela playing that card during that episode. And yeah, I know women died during those conflicts.

I'm very involved with Vets and I am working with a guy right now who is claiming "Combat Stress" and he never deployed overseas so I question that, yes. OIF, GWoT are different than DeSert Storm and Bosnia where the role of women in combat was MUCH less back then. I know a woman who was in a convoy that got hit and she had to be resuscitated and spent the better part of a year in Walter Reed recovering - and still has both physical and mental issues. My original post was not about "DURR WOMINS DON'T FIGHT" and was more about Shangela being Shangela and possibly milking poo poo to "fit in" with the theme and the other girls who had ties to the military.

This makes your point MUCH more clear. Thank you for clarifying. I get a lot of people who react with "well, women don't actually FIGHT in wars, you know" after they discover I'm a veteran,(especially if my personal politics disagree with theirs) so it's kinda a constant crusade to remind people that the insurgents didn't care (and often don't even know) what gender was under our uniforms. Your original post led me to believe you had issues with the actual statement of the mother fighting in the war, and not the general "me too!!!"-ness of Shangela.

I (sadly) have a long off-topic story about how some idiot male vets actually believe that no women were ever harmed during any combat or combat-like actions. As a mental health counselor I have heard some horrific stories from female vets and I hate that you have to go through that. Anyway gently caress Shangela. I'm on season 4 now and none of these bitches outside Latrice are worth a poo poo either. I'm kinda glad I started with season 6 because I got spoiled with Bianca. I thought Season 3 was middling and the Reunion show was a far cry from later seasons. It was only once we got to the Snatch Game episode of Season 2 that we realized maybe watching each season in reverse order was a terrible mistake. Not only was it a lot rougher than later seasons but knowing Tyra Sanchez somehow wins while being the most boring and whiny queen of all seasons ever made it downright painful to watch. After that Snatch Game we decided to forego the rest of the season, watch the first episode of Season 1 for anthropological interest, and then skip straight to All Stars. I hope there's another All Stars after Season 7 and I hope Alaska and Adore get invited
