I just finished watching the first season of the show, and even though I've hated every anime I've watched since Evangelion like 10 years ago (and holy poo poo this show still has some annoying dumb nonsense in it), I'm addicted to it. If what I've read is right, I should start reading the manga around chapter 32? Is there some online service I can buy/subscribe to to be able to read all the backlogged chapters and the new ones as they come out?

You can buy most of the manga physically from Amazon or your local bookstore, and I think you can buy it digitally from Crunchyroll. CR also simultaneously publishes the manga as it comes out in Japan, so it's your best source for each tantalizing monthly issue!

When you're done with Crunchyroll's Titan offerings, another show to try is Knights of Sidonia. The CGI is initially quite offputting, but if you can get past that (and the somewhat silly harem elements), it has a lot of the things that made AOT good as well.

The CGI animation takes a little getting used to, but the mecha action looks good, and I really like the sound design. The harem stuff is weird, but the setting owns (crazy transhumanist high tech sci-fi) the antagonists are goddamn terrifying and the characters are solid. But seriously, that series gets loving crazy in a hurry and never stops. If you enjoy sci-fi, AoT and a shitload of at least give it a shot.

It should be noted that while Sidonia gets weird, it settles into a "pace" or a "rhythm" of sorts, and you never get the constantly-shifting clusterfucks/death spiral that are the most recent few arcs of Titan.

I've been watching the first couple anime episodes with my girlfriend who is new to the series. When Eren is describing his experience in Shiganshina just after joining the cadets, he mentions the Armored Titan and the goddamn camera switches for literally no reason to focus on the yet-to-be-introduced Reiner

Especially with how non chalant they are. I still think my favorite is how they revealed who they are like out in public and it takes a second for our main character to register what they said. I mean I really like how Bertolt/Reiner just go yup we were the two titans who hosed up the wall 5 years ago to Eren and there was no dramatic tension when they just say it. I think even Eren is like quit joking.

Seeing as how the next release is imminent, it got me thinking. It's kinda surprising how irrelevant Eren has become these past eight chapters, considering he's the key to everything going on in the story, and may just be the strongest person in the entire world. I get the feeling he'll be back in center stage again soon. If he managed to secret away one of those hidden blades, Reiss is in for a nasty surprise. Though from how things turned at the end of the last chapter, we're no doubt getting another curveball sent our way. Edit: Apparently Isayama said volume 15 and 16 are the most impactful of the series, so the answers of the series are likely here. Whoever is going not make it to the ending Pretty much confirmed one main character to not make it is Sasha within these next eight chapters. Just came here to post that. http://www.ishuhui.com/archives/3147 As we thought, Armin saved the day. Gangsta style. Not much happens in the chapter. The only thing really is Armin is now a soldier Levi can rely on, 100%. You can see it in his face. Hitch and Marlo return. Here is a translated version. It's not complete yet. http://imgur.com/a/CRcra Keep checking back. Nelson Mandingo fucked around with this message at 19:49 on Jul 6, 2014 |

Ho drat, yo. Jean, what are you doing? Are you testing them or yourself? Also, Levi should know that loose lips sink ships. The fact that the woman Armin murdered couldn't bring herself to shoot - that is just a vicious twist of the knife.

Awesome, Marlowe is back! His debate with Annie was one of my favorite parts of this manga. I was wondering when he'd show up again. It's awfully convenient that they happened to run into the only responsible member of the Military Police, but I'm not complaining because Marlowe is back! So it's not done yet... right? Do we know how many pages it will be? It's up to 42, which seems like a nice long chapter already, but it seems there's more to come.

Shindragon posted:loving hell. The whole chapter is up now. Yeah it's a test of character. Marlowe drops the knife. Hitch attacks Jean calling him a "Horse-faced bastard". Marlowe stops her and points out it was a test of faith. Jean invites them to aid the Scouts. The final scene is the Scout corps preparing an assault on the Central Division's headquarters. Levi is saying something like "I am 80% sure this is their base, thanks to those two you recruited Jean." My speculation is Marlowe is obviously completely honest about aiding the Scouts because the government is behind all the corruption. Hitch joined the military police specifically because she wanted to take advantage of the corruption. Hitch will probably betray the Scouts. When they enter, they're totally going to see Erwin's head on a pike, with a plaque saying "abandon all hope, ye who enter" above it. Also it's interesting seeing Nile worry about whether he's going to end up getting killed by the Central Division's 3DMG.
