The first half of the first song on Vacation is about having to ride your bike to the post office because your mailman is a dick, and on the way you get hit by a car and the moral of the whole story is "I shouldn't have worn shorts" and if you don't love that, then you are a terrible person.

It's not the lyrical content I don't like, it's just that the music on that album is mostly kinda boring to me. Unpopular opinions.

It's kinda fitting though that the album that's about Jeff finally getting his poo poo together is the one that's just straight up "here's an indie album"

Went to see the Menzingers a couple nights ago, and was blown away by how awesome the opening groups were.

Not sure if they've been mentioned much here, but if anyone gets a chance to see Pup or Cayetana, don't pass it up. Tons of energy and good vibes from them.

They were so good. I got to meet them after their set. They are super nice, and seem like they have been having a blast on this tour.

Yeah, called "Nervous Like Me." I didn't see it at their merch booth, but it might have been there already. Apparently they ship out in August, so it's soon.

For those feeling extra nervous, "Nervous Racehorse," by Wonk Unit, is also excellent.

Edit: re seeing hosed Up. I might. They play here on Thursday.

Shellac played a bunch of new stuff last night and it killed. The opening band Bear Claw was really good.

Old Town Road to EGOT

This sounds like their old stuff but with higher production values and chilled out a bit. I dig it. I do hope other tracks on this new album are as fast and chaotic as some of the tracks on You're A Woman, I'm A Machine.

A handful of my favorite bands are made up of people I really have no interest in hanging out with because they seem like huge assholes. DFA is definitely on that list.
