After many brands and years these are my favourite pair of boots ever.

i've come very close to buying those several times - people say they're amazingly comfortable after a few days/weeks of horrible pain.

i think i would just be anxious owning that many shoes. like, it is literal hoarding, just without the filth.

you could wear a different pair every day for four months. do you actually do this or is it just for display?

i think the last time i bought shoes was about 18 months ago for like 50 dollars. i've worn that pair almost every single day since, and they're still going fine because i keep the leather conditioned and polished. they aren't dress shoes, just simple black leather pumas.

but i guess owning 130-odd pairs of shoes is good too

everybody needs a hobby

one really nice thing about owning lots of shoes is that they take forever to wear out, my ones I wear the most still take like 3 years to go

Yeah, I know. They've been taken over quite a bit of time with differing lighting conditions. I need to do them all again at some point if I can be bothered.

And yeah, not for display. I wear them all. Some more than others sure but I don't have any deadstock.

that's fair. i guess i don't totally understand "collecting a lot of something" as a hobby.it's wonderfully consumerist but i always felt that a hobby should be something you do to improve yourself as well as being entertaining and a money pit. either you get new skills or a better body or something. buying a lot of thing is just...buying a lot of thing.

like "i obsessively watch sitcoms" could be entertaining and use up your time and be relaxing and stuff but it isn't really a hobby you want to be proud of, you know

Not really a hobby, I just buy what I like the look of and then wear it.

No, they're just out of rotation until I feel like wearing them again. I'm bailing out of here - I'm not a unique snowflake when it comes to sneaker buying/collecting (not even on these forums) and there's a huge community around it especially in the US and UK. I wouldn't even say I had that large a collection really - just stuff I like.
