I like Dana Gould a lot but I had to bail after 10 minutes of the podcast he hosted. He just kept steamrolling over Alison with the most unfunny, nonsensical bullshit. She kept trying to tell a story about recording a song in studio with her band, and he just kept interrupting so much that I never even heard the story.

Yeah same here basically. I don't know whats up but I don't find him nearly as funny as the rest of you dudes do. I like Dameshek but he was also steamrolling over Alison on her podcast. She must of said apricots and peaches like 5 loving times before she was able to get her anecdote in.

You know what I find amazing after listening to Adam Carolla Podcast (or anything from the *CAROLLA DIGITAL NETWORK!*) is just how loving much Adam advertises. I mean, in the Natasha Leggero and Moshe Kasher guest-hosting episode I just reached the second sponsor interruption. One at the beginning, 3 minutes there, then another pair at the mid-way point for 3:30 there. Compare this to Nerdist. One at the very beginning, in the pre-show segment. That's it. You Made It Weird I can't remember any for. The Bugle? None at all. Although I GUESS Adam's been open about how much this is about money for him, it still seems excessive since the alternatives are just awesome in comparison.

Eh, I mean at this point in the game who gives a poo poo? I don't really care if they toss 10 minutes of advertisements at me as long as the shows good and I've got a fast forward button. They just assume most people fast forward that poo poo anyway. I doubt everyone here listens to his, "Thank you for listening" message every day.

Kevin Smith puts his at the beginning, where it's easy to fast forward through them. But it makes more sense to do live reads where lazy people won't bother fast forwarding past them.

These anti-union type rants are why I stopped listening to this show. I came back hoping he's lightened up on this poo poo but nope. He doesn't even make it funny, it's just a bunch of idiotic half baked statements made by a rich white rear end in a top hat, he's basically become Glenn Beck lite and Bryan and Allison just tacitly agree

Usually, I'd agree with this sort of thing, but Adam is actually pretty reasonable in this regard. He weaves a few jokes into the ads, so that they don't actually sound like ads, and tries to keep them pretty brief.

I gave up on the Steve Austin show because his ads are loving obnoxious. He reads them out loud, and they go forever. And he repeats the same ad like 5 times in an hour show.

Wow, I saw Adam did an AMA on Reddit the other day and I figured I'd read through it. Absolute, complete garbage with an average word count of 2 for each response. It was pathetic. Barry Katz is the best. He's like some kind of droll Buddha, he's super mellow but cuts right to the heart of things, and manages to do it in a really gentle and humorous way. I don't think Adam liked being called "angsty" though. I really want to hear the podcast he's going to do with Adam, it's not up yet so I don't know when that will be. Industry standard, man.

If you've never heard him before, he's the manager for Jay Mohr and a bunch of other comedians. Jay's had him on his podcast several times, which is where I think he was introduced to the world at large.

That's the problem with Adam and Drew when they're guestless it's just them complaining about poo poo and they have no reason at all to get to calls. Adam kind of needs someone to reign him and yell at him to roll callers. At this point I've mostly written it off the Adam and Drew Podcast since it's a pain to listen to.

We'll see how much he's enjoying it when he has to attend a mandatory mediation in Texas. Sure they want to let it go, but it's still going to take more of his time and money for both he and whomever his legal team is to fly, attend, get hotels, meals, etc.

I'm torn on his opinion to continue. If he was doing this entirely on his own dime, then that's one thing. Choosing to press it when other people are helping foot the bill feels different to me. Glad I didn't contribute.

Isn't the goal to invalidate the patent in a decision so that they can't target anyone else? Most of these patent trolls are just legalized extortion. Someone called their bluff and they are furiously trying to get out of it now.

Refunds seem pretty difficult to do at this point. I think donating remaining funds to the EFF and having it marked to handle other podcast suits would be a fair alternative.

Winning his case certainly helps put a damper on patent trolls, but it's not going to somehow stop them forever. That would take it escalating to Washington and the Supreme Court, which may happen either way.

As far as sticking it to them and not letting them out of the suit, that could be interesting to see at trial. This is a new thing and there's not a huge amount of precedent for these types of cases, so it's not necessarily a "slam dunk," for Adam. That, the new-ness of these cases, plus any trial taking place in East Texas/their home turf doesn't exactly spell total victory.

But, there's a lot we don't know and i haven't seen much of the court filings so it's hard to say.

For anyone that donated--more power to you. I'm not saying what he's doing is right or wrong, just my own feelings and opinions.

I donated - Adam has been clear from the beginning that he is going to fight this case on the behalf of the entire podcasting community. He's already put in roughly twice the amount that people have donated, with more to surely come. Taking this shady company's word that they're going to stop suing everyone with a postal address would be silly. They need to go to court, and be defeated. It's not Supreme Court-style precedent, but it's a good thing to have on the books and that's always been the goal.
