I've played three games using the example used in the manual (Obsidian Sq and Academy Pilot vs. Rookie X-Wing), all three times so far the Empire has won (though the last win came down to pilot skill letting Obsidian Attack first in a head-to-head faceoff). I already want more minis.

Do you have any recommendations of a decent point buy value for the starter set?

I'm not sure how it'd work online, to be honest. You really need to have both players at the same table.

Also, I recommend the X-Wing thread in TradGames. I am a scrub who buys Y-Wings so you should never listen to my advice but there are smart goon in that thread.

My most insane walking adventure was a bush patrol when I was a cadet. I hadn't worn in my new boots beforehand. :suicide:

I could literally pour the blood out afterwards.

The sand flies are really only a problem in Milford Sound. The rough shale scree is pretty harsh but I was young and stubborn. The feel of the nice earth bits more than made up for any discomfort and I was carrying a pair of suitable hiking boots in case I needed them.

Ah ok. Makes sense with the sand flies, as I copped them in Te Anau as well when I walked close to the lake when walking one of the trails.

It's a beautiful part of the world and if I had enough money to retire I'd seriously move to the South Island of NZ.
