Kill List is a fantastic movie and I highly recommend fans of this show seek it out. I personally thought the last 20-ish minutes shat the bed somewhat though.

I think the more we learned about them the less interesting the show got, a bit like with Lost but on a much smaller scale. I still really enjoyed the second series though, it was dark, absurd and hilarious, which is everything I want in a TV show. Yeah, Kill List is one of those really underappreciated low budget Brit-flicks that no one has ever seen. It's a shame, because it is just amazing and also batshit insane.

It's one of those films that people tell you is amazing, but it isn't. It's not bad, and it's worth at least one watch, but the last act completely ruins the whole thing.

I'm not going to say Kill List is amazing, and it does start to fall apart towards the end, but I still thought it was a lot of fun and enjoyed the weird family drama beginning, the bizarre hitman movie middle, and the insane and stupid ending.

Seconding Wilson as a fave crook. His dilemma is believable, just trying to limit the numbers. Also he's completely insane that he can even have conversations with Ian without exploding or being struck by lightning. But still, fave bad guy ever p much. e: also I felt really bad for Dugdale there at the end. Or like, his whole life since he got roped into this poo poo has been hell, and now it's getting worse, for the second time. gently caress, man. I feel for Dugdale. Just finished binging through the series between jobs. This show is pretty great, especially the shooting style. I mean it looks like something out of a Windows XP background or a 2008 point-and-shoot, but they really own it Everything from the costuming to the set design is there to support it. You've got Paul's crazy yellow suit this season, the kill-bags, and sometimes they literally just have bright-yellow drop cloths behind windows. I just like this feeling that everything to do with The Network has this really blown out and absurd color spectrum to it.

Despite him being in charge, Lee has given him poo poo since he replaced Milner. Lee would have kept challenging his authority, so I reckon killing him was a had to thing.

Its both. Not only is killing Lee now a necessity, but Wilson has become the kind of person that could kill without remorse. I really wish Lee hadn't been so antagonistic towards him. The actor that plays him has this strange charisma to him that made almost every single one of his scenes enthralling to watch.

Casting someone who seems so likable and the fact Wilson's character reflects that as well was a really good move. It's a fantastic fit. For Wilson being the new Mr. Rabbit I wonder what direction he'll take the Network, since he clearly has at least some morals and wants to keep death tolls to the barest minimum to ensure the plan. Course he still appeared to have feelings for Becky, and with how love and emotional attachments were the big theme this season, and how they ruin everything, I wonder if that'll be his downfall.

The second season was severely lacking in those tense/hilarious scenes with the theme music that the first season did so well. The closest one was Wilson/Lee with gun/crowbar. I don't know what else they could do with the concept after this, all the ambigious morality characters have already switched sides multiple times and the various conspiracies/secrets don't go any deeper than we've already seen. I think they would have been better to wrap it all up this season. I would, however, watch a full season of Arby making breakfast for people in between mass murders.

Koburn posted:The last episode adds another 2 to the tally of perfect headshots performed by characters who have (probably) never fired a gun before. That brings Wilson 'no depth perception' Wilsons total up to 4. It makes sense that a person with one eye would be a good shot. When a person goes blind, their other senses heighten to compensate. And when a person loses one eye their remaining eye becomes twice as good.

The big reveal where he brutally murders the poo poo out of his family by accident was just superb and bleak on The Mist levels. Also, the sheer brutality of the scenes where they discover the child porn ring and 'deal with' the guy involved with it was impressive as hell. loving that Donaldson chase scene is probably one of my favourite of all time. Arguably Lee was the best 'fixer' The Network had left. Speaking of the finale I was terrified the whole way through that Pietre was going to be killed. Especially at the end when the SWAT burst in

Why is the US version being labeled a "Supernatural Thriller?" - we just binged both UK series, and this show doesn't strike me as particularly supernatural in the strictest sense of the word...
|
# ? Sep 30, 2014 15:31 |

It's not supernatural at all. It's scifi. Maybe Arbie is going to be a sparkly vampire in the US version. That would be par for the course.

It's a conspiracy thriller, not a supernatural thriller.

Initially I honestly thought it was a supernatural thriller. Maybe watching it with the one-week gap in between episodes was a factor, as there was a longer period where I was wondering what the hell was going on. There's the suggestion of genetic manipulation, the future-prediction in the comic, and the general sense of... otherness? Also, it's not yet clear whether Arby and Jessica get their.. abilities and/or predispositions from their upbringing or from the genetic testing. It's true that that's more sci-fi than supernatural, but they're on the same continuum.
