If you're talking about the thing I think you're talking about, that thing can be recalled like a boomerang. They talked about it on one of the streams the other day. So you can not only kill people via direct impact, but you can pull it back to you and kill anything in the way.

No poo poo, I knew when c4 caught on with pubbies it would be a problem but this? The only thing that comes close to the fun of action c4ing in this series is hearing "losing B" and double tapping for a triple kill.

You missed the most important news today, which is that a 105mm howitzer is an upgrade module on the Paladin.

This engine apparently has "a few lines of code" left over from the "old" engine - does anyone who has a clue about such things believe this? As in did they maybe just added a few bits on to the old engine?

I've only been semi-following the CoD info.

I wanted them to get to THE FUTURE faster. I didn't think it would take them 7 years to do it! (counting from cod 4)

Yep, people get too hung up on whether it's a "new engine." Although Activision sure does love to market each new game with those words.

I hope there's a balance they can find between "TTK is too high with the movement speeds, game feels clunky and slow" and "You melt a guy if you catch him without boosting." Nice to hear that BO2 is their goal, though.

They've been giving tons of lip service to Black Ops 2 and I don't think anybody's even mentioned Ghosts, which shows they recognize how the community received it at least.

That happens with every CoD release, just due to the offset of development schedules, but yeah, I'd be fine if everybody ignored Ghosts forever. There were what, maybe two good ideas in Ghosts? Making the underbarrel shotgun work (or work better, at least), and DMRs as a separate class.

Oh, and the support squaddie. Anything else?

It honestly had a few decent ideas. Extinction was cool, I thought Field Orders were a nice idea and the map-specific streaks tied into them were cool. The way they tweaked Specialist was good too.

The problem is that they had these good ideas that were mired in terrible execution. Field Orders didn't work because the high TTK usually meant you got melted before you got a chance to complete them, or there was an equal chance of you getting some asinine gimmick (get a jumpshot kill, wtf?), something simple and easy (headshot) or just plain grotesque ("humiliate", :wtf:). Extinction was a great idea, but shelling out for all the DLC for a total of four levels is bullshit. And the map-specific streaks on every level except HOTDOG were garbage to the point where you usually might as well not bother. Plus, the presence of Field Orders meant no more Care Packages, which thank god AW is backtracking on.

Also, the revolver was amazing. I felt like a god when I one-shotted somebody with it.

Bettyspagh3tt1

Field orders were great and not hard to complete at all. High TTK works in your favor as well. Satellite crash was junk, but another reward was a precious squad point and the replenishing of your ammo and equipment.

Replenishing equipment wouldn't have felt like such a reward if they'd allowed scavenger to replenish it like in BLOPS 2. Plus there was nothing more pointless than getting a SATCOM as a reward for completing a field order.

-Field Orders were a neat idea executed poorly.
-Actually throwing C4 like an intelligent person (from behind a shield) was great. Too bad it got nerfed into the ground.
-Squad Mates, again, were a good idea and done someone well. Nerfed into the ground.
-Sliding was good.
-Weapons with integrated parts were also a good idea.
-DMR's being a seperate weapon class was another pretty decent idea.

Everything else was poo poo.

I'd like to see some actual beam effects on stuff like laser sights, or the new energy weapons if there's smoke or lovely weather. BF4 kind of does it, you can see laser dots bobbing along if someone is toting one. I was quite impressed with how much poo poo BO2 would keep track of too. If someone was camping out a spot you could tell, there would be magazines and shell casings all over the floor. Mostly pointless, but still a nice touch.

Every demon wants his pound of flesh

When I moved house last year it took 2 months to get an internet connection. Dark times. Anyway, BlOps 2 bots gave me hours of multiplayer entertainment. I got 400+ kills in 30 minute maps (on Recruit difficulty) and got to practice using the scorestreaks I'd otherwise never get.

It also confirmed that, when I bumped the difficulty up to Veteran, there was definite lag and bullshit going on. I was practically getting quickscoped from across the map. There was a setting to have the bots use the names of people on your friends list, so it actually felt like I was getting angry at real people and not AI.
