AAAAAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA So all these times they have been loving their customers in the rear end and stealing their money. It's like that other company that hosed Sega in the rear end by taking the money to make Aliens Colonial Marines to fund their own IP. Except instead of a company, PGI hosed Battletech fans. Now everything makes sense. Like where all the money go to and why PGI doesn't even give a poo poo how broken their game and how their customers are rolling in their own poo poo.

Was thinking about joining you guys for some robit shooting, but no. I am so so so glad I trusted my gut feeling way back during the founders program. Never gave them a cent and PGI couldn't even pay me to play their poo poo at this point. I'd again like to ask, does anyone have a link to the very first thread back when we still had hope?

Hey, all you motherfuckers who have entertained the thought of giving PGI a chance, let's play the timeline game. 12/2013: Russ explains that MWO has a team of 45 developers, some forced to work double-duty 05/2014: Russ brags about PGI's rash of hiring, citing a 25% growth over a 6 month period 06/2014: PGI anonymously registers a landing page for their new spaceship exploration game 09/2014: Bryan says MWO sustains a team of 35-40 developers, including external contractors MWO's team size since the end of 2013 has decreased between 11%-22% despite reassurance that it's increased by at least 25%. Either PGI was completely full of poo poo, or only partially full of poo poo, and were funneling staff to their new scifi planetary exploration spaceship game.

I am not shocked at all. They took an intrinsically flawed game, left in an arbitrary hit location table because dice were the best option at the time. Then they placed it in the most unbalanced timeframe of the series, when the clans arrive. To seal their fate they didnt have a design team with the creativity to build a working system. Now that they have milked it, I suspect they will lose the license and 'be free' to work on the new game.

OK. Need some help. Ever since the server migration my ping has about tripled to around 150ms and the drat thing freezes and locks up for no apparent reason, multiple times per game. ALT + TAB can fix it but it is not a viable solution and the game is practically unplayable. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game. I have checked my drivers. I am out of ideas. Help?

I gotta admit though, it's a brilliant business plan. It's scummier than the guys who made Aliens Colonial Marines that I didn't suspect anyone would thought this out. 1. Buy an old, dead IP that has a lot of nostalgia attached to it, for cheap 2. Develop a prototype enough to show "potential" 3. Fleece the fans, who are now adults with jobs and income, promising to develop this "potential" 4. Divert the resources to develop the prototype of the game you have always wanted to develop in the first place 5. Get funds from a bigger audience As an added bonus, they actually consider their players to be so dumb they couldn't see this happening and that they would continue to support them. The balls it takes to do this is incredible.

12v12 sucks compared to 8v8. Also, this game is just like anything a nice idea but poorly executed.

I was literally this close to reinstalling but I'm glad I was too lazy to do so. Ahahahaha jesus loving christ, that explains why so little was being done with the game. Why put effort into someone else's IP when you can make your own?

Who knows, maybe he has another job lined up already (Yes, yes, N19 has nothing to do with the business side of things, he just keeps the servers running or whatever.) Honestly this sounds like a terrible idea anyways. A small studio like that is just going to spread itself too thin trying to make a second game while at least pretending to maintain another.

Even if MWO and the Spaceship game go under, they've always got some parachute money left over for Rabbit Hole Interactive, right? Founded in 2011 by veteran game developers, Rabbit Hole has signed an exclusive multi-year product deal and is ramping up production. One of these days they might even stop sharing office/conference space and infrastructure with PGI. Number19'll be fine.

See I'm always annoyed at bludgeoning all into believe one single opinion and saying it's "freedom of speech" While I am certainly unhappy. And trust me I am, with community warfare, the reason I purchased a founder pack those years ago, not even being in a basic form yet... Plus aggravating missile systems (Real life missiles like Sidewinders and AMRAAMs, or TOWs would be a great system to go off of while adding 'simulator' complexities...) this game is in no way "complete" But I also have to look at real things here... Did PGI go to some hapless, mentally incompetent investor and say "See that Star Citizen thing with 50 million dollars? We can do that better and release a product faster." and got a fully funded game? I doubt it but moronic things have happened before. Tabula Rasa anyone? Alternatively, again for all we know, some idiot APPROACHED THEM and said "Could you make a better Star Citizen faster?" and then said "Why yes we can!" We don't know. We'd like to think we know everything, and have all theories figured out, and all of PGI and it's inner workings under our thumbnail with hashtag justice.... But we don't know poo poo folks. Not a single poo poo at all.
