You're already dead

Push Start, which is linked at that article's source, has images of the magazine if you want to see them. I'll post the one with Claire and Barry Burton's kid.

Claire's reminding me of Mary Jane Watson for some reason.
Looks like they will be bringing back the setting dead zombies on fire mechanic from REmake.

I'd wait to see more information before I'd assume that means the character is utterly incapable of combat. I'd assume it means that there is a mechanical difference but it's probably more akin to Jill/Chris in the original Resident Evil as opposed to "one character fights, one character can only heal."

The magazine scans in the link that Policenaut posted seem to suggest pretty heavily that Moira indeed does not fight. The game only ends if Claire dies, implying Moira cannot be killed. Plus the screenshot captions straight up say that Moira cannot shoot and Claire is the one who gets the guns while Moira uses her flashlight to guide the way (it looks like she even aims it using a gun holding animation).

If that's really the case co-op is gonna be strange - who's gonna want to shine a light around rather than beating up monsters?

How is it that I got to the end of the thread and nobody said Moira looks like Ellie?

Besides, isn't there still supposedly a male playable character that hasn't been revealed yet? You could still get Barry, although he'd be 45-48, which in Japanese game terms means he's been dead for ten years.

They might be handling co-op Dead Space 3 style, where in single player the partner character is not there/a light source, but plays normally in co-op.

And Moira looks like Sherry going through a goth phase.

So...
Claire = DPS
Moira = Heals
Barry(?) = Tank

Alyson Court is still voicing Claire right? It just wouldn't be the same without the voice of Lydia Deetz/Jubilee/Loonette the Clown.

Have they been using anything from the CG Resident Evil movies in the games yet? I haven't been paying attention. Those movies were really cool, way better than the Paul Anderson movies. They play like one super long cutscene from Resident Evil 2 mixed with super modern-rear end graphics. If you watch it in HD the graphics approach some uncanny valley level of detail. You can actually see what a human anime would look like (Leon)

Not yet, IIRC. They're canon but they haven't been referred to again, despite RE6 and Damnation sharing a screenwriter.

Yeah, I actually really like both the models. Claire actually looks completely done with all this poo poo, and Moria looks like a scared teenager.

Off topic a bit, but Claire will be 34-35ish by Revelations 2. Has there ever been a female game protagonist older then that before? I'm halfheartedly trying to think of one, and I'm coming up blank.

Burton Sandwich, a sacred art passed down from parent to child only to the most pure of the Burton Bloodline which helps them unlock the true power of their heirloom weapon the Zombie Killer in their eternal fight against Count Wesker.

She's 19 in RE2, RE5 is set in 2008, and RE6 starts in 2012, so she'd be anywhere from 29 to 32, which means she's as old as Jill was in RE5.

Edit: Never mind, Moira's playable.

I think Aya Brea was around the same age in Parasite Eve 2, though looked ridiculously young for (admittedly plot-justified) reasons. Can't think of any older, though.

He says outright in the introduction to RE4 that he's "received special training." It's been six years and he's had at least one montage, so it's legit.

I was looking for Resident Evil 2 stuff on Youtube and discovered the Extreme Battles added by the Dualshock edition. I played a fuckton of Resident Evil 2, so to learn years and years later that there's new content I'd never heard of is kind of mindblowing.

I was hoping I could find a Leon Gets Denied youtube video, for all the times everyone ignores him in RE2.

Mostly with bosses here, I made Birkin look like a pin cushion and he'd still wack me across the face with his pipe, it was annoying, ended up grenading the fucker to death as my guns seemed largely useless.

It's a railshooter, they do this stuff. Both games pulled similar bullshit of incredibly brief windows between "monster on screen" and "munching on your face".

I'd argue Darkside is a pain about that pretty much the whole way through while it only got really bad in Umbrella Chronicles towards the end where they used that poo poo as a substitute for difficulty.
