Imagine how much more sad and lonely we would be if not for the hard work of lowtax. Here's $12.95 to his aid.
Cross Ange even if it had not featured the TSA agent scene, I wouldn't give more than a two-episode test. Uninteresting and not very promising, budget went to fanservice.
The competition is an actually easy to digest Gundam. If you want sci-fi with (less) fanservice and more action and more development but in ten minute episodes, go Karen Senki :v:

World Trigger I thought was going to be something else (manga confusion) but it surprised me, will be watching. Could kick rear end.

The best part about Cross Ange was where the next episode preview refers to her getting butt raped in a jokey tone.

Celestial Method is an okay moe, slice of life, mystery show, if you like that sort of thing.

Crystal Celestial Method seems a little like Denpa Onna with more aliens, less autism, and less Itoko . Or maybe Ano Hana with an alien instead of a ghost and less tragedy.

The best part of "Girlfriend (Kari)" is how the name literally means "Girlfriend (Placeholder/Temporary name)". When I first saw the commercials for the game I thought the game was still in development but nope, it's the actual title of the game.

First episode was alright. I'll keep watching for a while. A soft fluffy pillow of melancholy and mystery.

Edit: I don't understand what my husband is saying has some potential. First episode was already worth a few laughs.

Grisaia shows it's eroge roots with great visuals and an effective 21:9ish aspect ratio that enhances the thing. Could be a surprise-hit if it handles the adaptation of the game well, the lead even when at maximum Gary Stu won't compare to Mahouka or SAO2 MCs, as the show goes on the story will get absolutely gruesome, dark and nasty but not offensive for anyone but people who live on tumblr.

I watched a few minutes of Cross Ange to see what people were getting so worked up over. I didn't even make it to the rape-analogue scene because it was just so goddamn boring. How do you gently caress up a show about mechs fighting dragons?

Yeah, seems decent. The first episode has alleviated my worries that it'll be a godawful phoned-in adaptation, but I'm still concerned that they have nowhere near the airtime in 12 episodes to actually do the story justice. Hell, they could spend that much time on the common route alone.

ACES CURE PLANES

Yeah, it's just disgustingly boring. And it looks like Akiko Shikata really phoned in the music too. Not even the interesting mecha designs are enough to bother with boring plot and bad character designs. Bleh.

I got some chuckles out of Denki-gai, I'll give that a three episode test.

UBW is UBW. I'll watch it either way.

They actually still didn't announced how many episodes there's gonna be, so there's still hope that the adaptation is gonna be 2-cour. Especially considering those last 2 minutes.

I stayed the gently caress away from Cross Ange the moment I came across some chucklenuts on my Twitter feed going on about Babies in Pet Boxes. I knew no good could come of that.

Madan no Ou to Vanadis
Surprisingly Solid given the sort of fluff bullshit it was threatening to be. If anything I'm in love with the crunchy feel of the war throughout the thing. The relationship between the main characters is interesting if only for the fact that Ellenora was the instigator.

Providing it doesn't fly off the rails this could be another one in the Win Column for Tatsuo Satō

Sailor Moon Crystal
I think it's just about got it's footing. It's a crying shame it's taken this long (and, frankly, if we were in a better world, Toei would have not a drat thing to do with it) but such is life. We have Ryouko as Makoto and all is about right in the world.

Sword Art Online II
So we're getting Calibur and Mother's Rosario as our second half for SAO II. I couldn't be happier. Some of the better material to work with in the franchise that allows for some screen time not taken up by Kirito.

Who the hell writes CR's series summaries?

'Kohina Ichimatsu, the self-proclaimed doll, called out the fox ghost Kokkuri-san with a suspicious incantation! But it was a story of the past where Kokkuri-san was able to answer any question you had. Nowadays, it relies on a certain search engine, but is actually bad at anything digital. He was going to possess Kohina, but got worried about her living all alone and devotes himself to do chores as if he was her mother. On top of that, the dog ghost Inugami who is infatuated with Kohina and the old good-for-nothing supernatural raccoon dog Shigaraki decide to root themselves with her as well!'

Pretty much every VN in Japan has to have porn in it, even ones where porn is not the point. That's how they make the things sell.
Tsukihime had porn in it and people around here like it quite a bit. So long as the adaptation is competent and not creepy, what's the harm?

...I say this having never seen this adaptation in particular. The adaptation is not creepy, right?

Steins;Gate has never had porn in, it was originally released for the 360 and then ported to the PC. None of the 'Science Adventure' series started out with porn in.

Eeeeeh not really, it's basically a VN version of Full Metal Panic without the mecha or charm. There's enough bad with it IMO that it's not really worth defending but that's just me; I never got the VN thread's love for it.

How did this smug dummkopf ever make general?

I liked Grisaia because the main character actually had a personality (Unlike most of the VNs people tend to like), and the overall presentation was superb. The adaptation not only keeps the music, but also looks even better than the VN. So many different facial expressions switching so quickly, especially with Makina and Michiru, to great effect. So far it seems alright.

Can't speak for anyone else but it was the humor that made me love it. The scenes of the girls and Yuuji personalities bouncing off each other were my favorites. I would be happy if the anime was just the slice of life stuff and never got to any of the serious stuff but that doesn't seem to the the way they're going about it.

And yeah, the porn can cut and it'd still be pretty much a complete VN. Not sure why anyone would play it for the porn as it's like 10+ hours of reading before you get to any of that stuff.

Calling someone a dog is a totally different insult in the east. I don't know what my point is here because it's also a way more severe insult there too. But it's way more sexually charged from a western pov.

Getting of the Grisaia talk for a minute because holy crap, every review of CROSS ANGE makes it look like the most godawful thing. I'm glad I had no interest in watching beforehand because it seems like the most hateful, misogynist anime I've seen in awhile.
