Well, even if Dropbox synced all the poo poo files, they allow you to go back in time via the website.

There's an options button next to it if you want to change some settings (or you can make a new profile to tweak) Worked perfectly! Thanks.

If they improve the UI that alone would make Windows 10 a worthy upgrade. Just make the titlebar semi-transparent as the taskbar and have the windows which are not in focus to not have white borders but lighter shade of the main UI color. Or just give me (for the love of God) back the glass theme. I also can't believe no one at Microsoft noticed that making the UI dark makes the title of each window unreadable. UI is the one thing you stare at all the time you're using the drat OS. And sign me the gently caress up on dropping the number and just naming this thing Windows.

Does anyone know if there's good AV software that's compatible with JAWS screen reader software on Windows 7? We have someone on Kaspersky with JAWS and both programs are working fine but he basically can't interact with Kaspersky beyond checking that it's running because JAWS won't read any of its windows or dialogs.Storm- posted:And sign me the gently caress up on dropping the number and just naming this thing Windows. Since 10 is X in roman numerals they should call it X-Windows. Then it'll be cool for younger generations and they'll end up calling it X or something. Good for marketing!

Is there any way to stop windows 8.1 automatically re-opening fullscreen applications like games? What happens is I might want to alt tab out to look something up on google then when I close the firefox window it auto switches and BAM, perma black screen and my only option is to alt tab out to desktop and force close the program. Manual alt-tabbing works fine. I'm using Classic Shell.

You might want to check it from a clean computer via the web UI before you reformat. If your stuff is gone, then you get to balance the value of your files against the cost of ransom. I just mean Google Docs, I don't actually use the Drive sync software they offer to compete with Dropbox. I do know how I got infected, but I can't fully explain on the forums.

I've been using Teracopy for my file copying needs, but it recently started erroring out shortly after starting on an copy of even a remotely decent size. No clue what the problem is (I recently added another SSD and installed Samsung Magician to help with it, that's all I can figure), but when I went to download the newest version of Teracopy to see if it was fixed I found out that there hasn't been a new version in ages. Is it still the go-to Windows file copy replacement or are there better options now?

I had the exact same problem not to long ago, on one computer with 2.3 it'd bomb at the same point every time, but with an older 2.2 install it worked fine.

Is there any way to alter or flip windows keyboard shortcuts? With win7, pressing <win>+<num> will pop up the preview of all the windows that app has open and you can cycle through them. pressing <win>+<ctrl>+<num> skips the preview and automatically cycles through the windows (similar to how OSX handles it) I'd like to exchange the functionality of these two shortcuts, if possible

hooah posted:Is there any way to grow my main partition (on the right) in this setup? Short answer: Not in that configuration. Long answer: 1) The usable fraction of your hard drive is currently around 98%; it looks different because volumes on discrete storage devices in Disk Management default to logarithmic display so you can actually see all the tiny EFI and recovery bits. 2) Windows only provides for expanding forward, and you're already at the trailing edge of your I guess SSD? At least as far as Windows knows. 3) EFI and Recovery partitions are normally sort of important. Windows says they're empty but I wouldn't screw with 'em. Therefore: 4) You've got about as much of your drive as you're going to get.

The newer versions seem like adware or worse, but v2.2 has always served me well.

I'm not sure if this should go here or in the tech support forum, so if I got it wrong, let me know and I'll edit this and move it over there. I am currently running Windows 7 Ultimate, 32 bit. I'd like to upgrade to 64-bit for either Windows 7 Ultimate or Windows 8.1, since I have the disc sitting here and why not, and also I bought a 3 tb drive not knowing that 32-bit versions of Windows have issues using them. Whoops! Anyway, trying to install with either disc just tells me that it isn't compatible with my version of Windows so I probably need to boot it using the disc, but this is for a fresh install of Windows, right? I'd like to upgrade Windows without wiping everything on my drive out but I don't know how to do this, because I'm dumb.

You can't upgrade from 32 to 64 bit, you have to do a full reinstall. If you open Windows Easy Transfer you can put your stuff onto the external and then import it once you've re-installed the OS (it won't transfer programs, but docs and settings, yes) so make life a bit easier.
