It seems the trend in technology these days is to make everything curved or flexible. Take, for instance, the new LG G Flex:

For a TV, the benefit of a curved screen is (allegedly) to better conform to the curvature of the human eye, but it seems like with a phone the depth of field would be too close for the curvature to make a perceptible difference.

Is there any benefit to having a curved/flexible phone apart from novelty value?
I suppose it would be less likely to break under pressure, but it seems like the added cost of buying a flexible phone outweighs the minor benefit of protecting one from one's own absent-mindedness.

I'll wait for the LG G Sphere. Completely unusable, but it's a loving ball!

E: it could come with a neat little inductive charging station shaped like a baseball glove. :3:

TBH I would have grabbed the G-Flex over my HTC one if it were 1080p just because of the novelty.

IN the future phones will be just a piece of floppy plastic and you can toss them around haphazardly and it's going to own

My most anticipated feature of future phones is enough durability to not need a case.

I don't put cases on my phone because I'm a dangerous fucker with a penchant for pwnage, OP. You can do the same if you put your neurosis in a case, heh.

Oh, so YOSPOS moved over here now. cool.

Yeah the benefit to flexible screens is durability, the benefit to fixing a flexible screen in the same delicate glass as usual is marketing.

Someone once said to turn off the battery bar percentage to cure your autism and I did and it worked
