Is there an intermediary app out there which handles auto-backups of photos to my google drive better than the G+ app? On android it was great about auto-backups whenever I took a photo but despite auto-backup being turned on in the G+ app on the iPhone 6+ I find myself having to open the app and browse to the G+ photos > Camera Roll page before it begins to back them up.

This is my biggest annoyance with iOS and there's no way to make it work like Android. Nothing can run in the background. No matter which app you use, it'll not upload unless the app is open and will pause uploads after a few minutes if you close the app. Every time I see this  I just want to scream. Now mind you, lots of apps say they do this. Flickr, Dropbox, Google+ etc. None of them actually do it, not the way it works on Android, and it's unreliable at best. I have lost photos before because I thought they were being uploaded so I deleted them off my phone, and it turns out the upload had been paused hours before. The only way to get true background uploading for your photos is to use iCloud. There is no other option.

That's unfortunately how iOS works, you have to open the app to get the photos to start backing up if you're using g drive to back them up.

Who here uses Google voice for their phone number? I switched to integrate hangouts before the 6 came out, and it's just really not great to use Voice with Hangouts on my iPhone. There's no toggle between text and hangout message. So I'm almost blindly messaging people, sometimes not sure if I'm getting their number or messaging via hangouts. Calling works fine, I just use the old voice app for phone calls right now. Any one figure out a better way to work it? It's disappointing, I've used Google voice 4 years and this is the first time it is really just unusable.

So who else got their Google Inbox invite? I've tooled around in there just enough to find it might be cool...but the 15 minutes I've been in the app have accounted for 10% of my overall battery usage in the last 24 hours. Gonna have to monitor that.

I've ended up with a 5th gen ipod touch after an insurance replacement and just realised there is no way to queue up a track or album without making a playlist first  Is there a recommended music player app that can do that? I cant believe I'm having to download a replacement music player for my mp3 player. Goddammit apple.

Nah it's 8 now, picky does the job perfectly anyway. Why on earth would that not be a thing in the default player? I am also I glad to see album art still doesn't sync properly half the time. I always enjoyed that from my og classic.

I'm pretty sure the Music app was designed for people who only listen to two or three artists, because once you get beyond that it quickly becomes impossible to find anything quickly.

I kinda figured it was for people who just have a few songs and maybe an album for a ton of artists, because if you have a bunch of albums from one artist, scrolling through them all kinda sucks! Picky is much better.

Isn't the stock music app the same as is on the ipod touch, though? Why would they assume someone who bought an mp3 player wouldn't have much music? I wish Picky would change it's stupid app icon, though.

Half the time even disregarding that Siri is pretty terrible at actually understanding the names of songs. And I don't want to be on the bus talking to my phone. As for my other issue with the photos, IFTTT seems to have solved that...it's not a perfect solution (backs up to Drive instead of where the rest of my photos are) but at least I'll have instant backups that I can always clean up later if need be.
