Might've missed it in here but the Converse collaboration project 'CONS EP Vol. 2' had some pretty decent tracks. Besides the Flatbush & Trash Talk track there was this lovely track with Black Milk & BADBADNOTGOOD https://soundcloud.com/conversemusic/black-milk-x-badbadnotgood-now-or-never which has really got me looking forward to the latter's collab with Ghostface

I saw the bay area mentioned in the OP, abs haven't read through the rest of the forum, but being a local i love the bay area rap scene. In that fashion, everyone should listen to Iamsu! A great local artist with a lot of potential, also Berner is awesome. Jacka owns. I mention these because for the most part what I listen to its mainly from the 90s, and i am usually against most rap these days. Also as far as R&B goes Ne-Yo.

It took me a while to get around to really giving this tape an honest listen but Rich Gang Tha Tour Vol. 1, not to be confused with the first Rich Gang mixtape, is really good. It is maybe the biggest surprise of the year so far for me. If you're not into the "new Atlanta" sound you probably won't dig it but from what I gather London on the Track did most of the production and he really deserves props for a stellar job done holding the whole thing together. It's like Birdman's take on new Atlanta and he went straight to the source for everything. I've always enjoyed Quan and Thugger but it has been really interesting to see them come into their own musically. Anyway the tape is smooth through and through. The version I have of this song is hosed up (volume goes in and out) but I still love it (youtube rip doesn't seem to have the same problems) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ww5UAybbl7w It's my understanding that this is a free tape to promote the tour so I think it's kosher to ask if somebody can hook me up w/a better download... edit: poo poo is 20 tracks so I wanted to add a couple other favorites in case anyone wants a better taste of what to expect https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKyGxJlmKLA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDjM3RSe6-0 thathonkey fucked around with this message at 11:06 on Oct 29, 2014 |

I can't get into that Rich Gang at all. Quan has always been meh (and "meh" in that type of rap means you're actively making songs worse), and Thug is just way too inconsistent. Production does ok, but I think they'd be served by expanding a bit idk. I think it's just too...soft? or something. 2 of my fav tracks this year have Migos (and one has Thug-Bricks and Freestyle) so it's not like I hate the style. I'll prob listen a bit more but outside of a couple tracks nothing seems to stand out at all. I'm actually a bit excited to see what Carter V is gonna be like.

I will listen to a couple of his songs here and there assuming they are are supported by other far superior artists like kanye, e40, or someone ive never heard of gambino i feel like is trying much harder but winds up being even cornier.

The upside with Gambino is other than that one track with Trinidad Jame$ (ft. Gucci and a bunch of other dudes Gambino had no business being on a song with) I haven't had to listen to a single thing he's ever put out. Seems like Big Sean gets thrown a bone on every other big release these days.

But as it stands the only thing really memorable at all about him is the phenomenon i just described.
