Hold on- what’s gamecoin? Basically bitcoin, but for gamers. I realize that if you want community-voted moderators, then you HAVE to figure out a way to prevent spam or flooders from invading and ruining the election. I realized that making people have to “prove their worth” is the way to go.

We don't need this to be public, but an under the radar partnership would be helpful. At least to send emails and build the website.

You know this is a public forum right?

[–]kiwikku[S] -14 points 13 hours ago
And?

[–]Thyrotoxic 16 points 13 hours ago
You can't really have an under the radar partnership when you're advertising on a public forum.

Is this the closest bitcoiners have come to understanding what a free market is?

[–]dskloet 45 points 18 hours ago
In what way isn't there a free market? Isn't everybody free to consume or not consume (or produce) whatever media they want?

[–]kiwikku[S] -32 points 17 hours ago
No, not currently. The extant Games media is pushing a political agenda and insulting it's audience for the pushback it's recieving. It scores some objectively bad games higher just for having a "progressive" agenda.
See here: http://www.dualshockers.com/2014/10/14/bayonetta-2s-over-sexualization-complaint-a-perfect-example-of-whats-wrong-with-modern-reviews/

[–]dskloet 28 points 17 hours ago
I never read gamer media. How would anyone else be forced to read gamer media against their will?

[–]kiwikku[S] -29 points 17 hours ago
Nobody is. But you have to understand, there's been a vicious campaign of bullying and hate against Gamers going on for the last 3 months, and the media's caused it all. KiA would be happy to answer any questions you might have.

[–]dskloet 17 points 16 hours ago
Just ignore the media that you don't like?

i was thinking about this more than i should have and i think the difference is this

bitcoin people want to change the world. those changes may be stupid and they may want to change things for their own benefit, but at least they understand that they're the minority and are going to have to fight against entrenched interests

gamers on the hand want to maintain the status quo. like some american christians they perceive themselves as a persecuted minority, when they are in fact the entrenched interests themselves and are scrambling to maintain their hold in the face of change

both groups are deluded and stupid but bitcoiners seem somehow less onerous, to me at least
