One Nation, Under God.
Nintendolife is pretty much the only site that consistently lists and reviews eShop games, and they generally have prices/release dates listed on the profile page for each game if you do a search.

Lone Survivor DC is £7.99 / €9.99 / $9.99.

Alternatively, can anyone tell me how much Lone Survivor costs on the eShop? I'm doing a write-up, and I somehow can't find US/UK/EU prices (I don't know why but I haven't found an easy, consistent way to find eShop prices). It's awkward since it's a huge sticking point for a game I think a lot of people will have trouble engaging with.

I just went to Nintendo's eshop site for it. It shows $12.99. EDIT: is mine different??

I'll ask again. Anyone know a place for a list on good co-op local 3ds games on the eshop? Virtual Console included?

I dunno about a full list, but I can tell you that you can play NES/Game Gear VC games locally via download play, so you only need one copy to play multiplayer. There are lots of brawlers - a few Double Dragon games, River City Ransom, etc - plus Super C, Life Force, uh, Balloon Fight? and lots of other head-to-head games like Mean Bean Machine and Super Dodge Ball, etc. 3D Streets of Rage has local co-op but you need two copies of the game.

As for eShop games proper, Kokuga is a top-down tank game with four-player multiplayer via download play. Steel Diver Sub Wars has team-based multiplayer and the free version has a decent chunk of content.

If you're after retail games, both Resident have local multi-cart multiplayer as well as online play. Luigi's Mansion has four-player download play and the download versions can even play online.

From what I can tell Streets of Rage is co-op (download play?) as well as Double Dragon 2 (DD 1 is single player) hoping DD 3 comes. For Some reason Super C isnt multi.

Oh, Ubisoft. They advertised Tetris Ultimate as being $10 cheaper on the eShop than retail, then charge retail anyway. Price currently sitting at $30, when they'd blogged otherwise.

I haven't tried Tetris Ultimate, but I'm not fond of Tetris Axis.

Axis was a downgrade from Tetris DS. The menu interface was a mess. The best online options aren't default so nobody plays it. And the hard drop was way too sensitive at least on my 2DS d-pad.

We now have details on the eShop's predownload system:

http://www.nintendo.com/whatsnew/detail/YXIh5ldOpNjK_4ROED9rAGIfPpZNLHvA

quote:

To help fans start playing as soon as possible, we’re offering new buying options that let you pre-load most of the Super Smash Bros. for Wii U game before it launches.

Here’s how it works: If you pre-order on Nintendo.com, we’ll send your download code within 72 hours of the game’s launch. You can then redeem online or manually to pre-load the game. That means you’ll be able to play after a small game update when it’s officially released.

You may also pre-purchase directly from Nintendo eShop on your Wii U console and pre-load the game from there, OR purchase a download code from select retailers and pre-load to your Wii U console.

So if you pre-order on the website, advance download codes get sent out about a week from now. It's not clear when the direct eShop method goes live.

Considering a lot of current gen PS4/Xbone games are clocking in at 40-50 GB, 17 isn't that bad any more.

I filled my 32GB with just a couple games. If someone has to make the choice between the 8GB or 32GB Wii U, it shouldn't make a difference if you intend to download anything - you'll need external storage.

I do appreciate having everything in jukebox format, despite not being able to re-sell. It's just embarrassing how slow eshop downloads are.

And it's obviously only 17 gig because they skimped out on the awesome prerendered cutscenes from Brawl. I won't miss Subspace Emissary as such but the cutscenes were fantastic.
