I tipped you $10 and willing to quadruple it... if you do these three things.... And I'm sure bitcoiners will give even more if you do the following: Save all your receipts of what you bought for you and your kid. Go to the local news station with your receipts and share your story about these strangers started giving you bitcoin and converted it to food for you and your kid. The local media love heart throb stories and anything to do with bitcoin. If the media poo poos you... Let me know... I have a few connections. Share a video link on r/Bitcoin to share your story.... So we know we didn't give in vain. Good luck to you and your family this holiday season... Beans, rice and vitamin life... I've been there.... It's that time of the month again, now with a disclaimer

quote:

In these charts I've calculated the line of best fit through the log of price from Bitstamp. This is the middle of the yellow line. Then, I've created bands of width LN(0.3) to give each of the colours. There's nothing special about the width, other than it roughly keeps all price volatility within the rainbow. All these charts show are the difference between the price trend and actual daily price. The "Buy!" and "Sell!" labels are not financial advice. There is no guarantee history will repeat itself and return price back to the red of the charts.

This is like Bitcoin TimeCube.

Why is there so much volume on the Chinese exchanges (particularly BTCChina) and so little volume everywhere else? The contrast is dramatic.

the Chinese exchanges all operate on a monthly subscription model, you pay a flat rate to be able to buy and sell there and then no fees on individual transactions

They also count each transaction twice (because but & sell). Sooner or later they'll discover that counting each transaction thrice is even better!

hang on,

so thermos is paying 25 loving thou a month each to four programmers, said programmers have an almost complete lack of portfolios, references or other indicators that they are not simply friends of thermos who know a little java

all in all he is using, what, over a million bucks, to supposedly create an utopian new forums software to protect them from cosbys?

and when questioned by the small segment of bitcoiners with more than two braincells he angrily rants and raves about how he's not accountable in any way to them?

Tell me what you think of this idea. Also, please share ideas of little publicity stunts you think will raise awareness of bitcoins value over using traditional services like paypal.

The idea:

Get a webcam and live stream a cute little mouse living in its home. Give it a name, and make everyone love it. Make it a little popstar on Tumblr and elsewhere by having a few cute pictures of it, holding little toys and possibly make a video image collage of it with the song "You are my Sunshine"

In his cage, there will be a separator in it. The separator is keeping the mouse away from a vicious mouse trap that will kill it.

The separator raises and lowers based on donations - if the donation is to the mouse, the separator goes down. If it is towards the trap, the separator goes up. If the mouse lives 30 days, it will be kept as a pet and live a luxurious lifestyle.

$10 of value gets you 1mm in the direction you prefer. Adjustments to the separator are made each day at 6:00 PM and only counts payments/donations that happened BEFORE 5:30 PM.

The trap will only receive donations via bitcoin and be donating to something to help humanity. Something like finding a cure to cancer, PTSD, etc.

The mouse's donations will be paid only via Paypal and will go towards another organization to help people to be happier, or maybe something totally stupid like to PETA. Since this would provoke them to give it attention and really attract the right type of customer to make the thing go viral.

This will likely be scattered around tumblr, reddit, 4chan, etc and raise a lot of money on both sides, and lots of attention upsetting lots of people.

Eventually PayPal will get suspicious and upset about this little project and freeze all the money for the mouse - consequently making the value of what has been donated go to zero. This will make everyone hate and be very upset about PayPal and the mouse will die.

After the whole incident - it could make a very clear message that the people should have absolute control over their finances and that it matters that you have actual control over your money.

Also he might have somehow convinced the "developers" to accept bitcoin, and I don't think that bitcoin income gets taxed until you sell them, unless you're mining maybe?
