The casino in LS has actually been updated a few times over the past year, like they made a rudimentary interior that you can glitch into and I think there's some code here or there that suggests that the casino may be operational some day. That'd be pretty incredible.

There were audio clips that leaked over a year ago of Lester talking about the casino being open in online. Not sure if they're on the current gen versions though.

The best SUV is the Huntley S.
Fast, good turning, not as top-heavy as other SUVs so it doesn't flip as easily.
It's also good for missions and loving with pubbies as it provides excellent cover. I use it for terrorising pubbies in freeroam along with my Sultan.

Knowing R*, it'll probably be gambling real world cash in return for in game money. Or real/real seeing how online casinos seem to be ridiculously lucrative right now.

Then you'll get a bunch of fox news / daily mail features screaming about 12 year olds addicted to gambling.

On the moon... they don't make Neo Kobe Pizza.

I've played a few PS3 games with online casinos (Home, Test Drive Unlimited 2) and I imagine it'll turn out the same way. Gamble with in-game money, have ATMs everywhere so you can buy Shark Cards when you go bust, offer a shitton of exclusive rewards you can only get through earnings at said casino. "Oh, you want the brand new Casino Penthouse? Get $500,000 winnings at Blackjack and it's yours!"

That kinda poo poo fits perfectly with Rockstar's weird fetish for gating stuff behind other stuff.

Lag. If you watch, it's drawing the model where it assumes the bike / oncoming car is likely to be based on the last velocity & trajectory the game received. Best example of this is when he hits the black car then shoots at the driver - it looks like he misses, then half a second or so later it corrects him into the car.

I think spectator mode updates less than normal but that's just a guess.

Shotguns: Assault Shotgun, but buy the sawed-off too since you can use it from a motorcycle

The Sweeper isn't an SMG! Unless they changed it it uses LMG ammo and it's stats are recorded under LMG's. If you can help it you should only do drive bys with the AP Pistol, the only reason to carry an SNG is if you are too low of a level to own the AP Pistol.

Custom plates have to be unique so I guess that's why. Once you set it it's locked to you and nobody else can have the same plate. This is a good or bad thing depending on how much you care about being *~**~*unique*~**~*

I somehow have different custom plates on singleplayer to online though. My first custom plate order was put in and I got them in singleplayer, then the next time I started the app it had all reset. I tried to put in the same plate and was told it was taken, put in a different one and that became my online plate. This has persisted in the generation switchover.

They can still check uniqueness if you were able to setup the plate on Social Club or in game.

In SP, Franklin is the only one I've seen with custom plates (FC1988 for his Buffalo, FC88 for the Western Bagger)

When I say custom plates I mean literally "In single player my characters can all have the same custom plate I entered into the app which is different to the custom plate I have on my online account", not that characters have their own custom plates.

Sure, but even if they need to be unique (why?), there is no reason why you couldn't change them as many times as you want. Twitter somehow manages it with their usernames and I'm going to make a wild guess that more people use Twitter than play GTAO.

Who knows, add it to the list of other weird design choices made.

Maybe they didn't want people sitting on interesting plates and selling them? It's more likely to just be weird design choice than this but that's the only thing I can think of that could possibly happen if they let people chop and change plates while retaining the uniqueness

I think the micro has its place for killing drivers without blowing up cars -- basically only on missions. The AP is more accurate but the way drivebys work with the stupid "can't aim unless you're already shooting" poo poo sometimes the micro is a safer choice. In general, the AP pistol is better, absolutely.

On the next-gens can you still just buy the DLC pack assault rifles or are they rank locked to a degree?
Otherwise for new players, the work-horse weapon progression is Heaviest pistol you can get > The plain SMG for foot and micro for drive-bys > The AK. Beyond those levels the rest of the better weapons should start unlocking and it doesn't matter as much.
Shotguns are basically gimmicks until you get the Assault, that is a CQB/blindfire machine. Enemy hiding around the corner? If you have the extended mag just start shooting before you strafe out around the corner.

I don't know about that, I did good work with the pump shotgun before I got the assault (which totally rules, agreed)

the AK is totally outclassed by every other rifle so it's worth knowing that you want it when it's your only option and you want to ditch it the minute it's not.

I like the pump action but I have mixed results with it. The Assault is friendlier towards lag with the whole bulletspam.

And on the AK, totally. Ditch it ASAP but when it's the only assault rifle you have access to it works well enough.

Yes. I mentioned that the Special Carbine (and bullpup) and (I'm pretty certain) the Marksman Rifle can be bought immediately. I need to getmy 2nd character (level 7) transferred to double check all of this. But I know the special carbine is definitely available and I bought the sweeper with my alt since I created it back in February.

Shotgun (non-assault) only deathmatches, last team standing, etc. can be very fun since it's more of close proximity thing and you can't pick someone off from too far away.

And with the Assault Shotgun you don't even have to show yourself around the corner, you can free-aim it without exposing your whole body.

So I totally missed out on the Sweeper (and the musket and I'm sure some other stuff), but I'm hoping they bring it back (and hopefully before February). Have they said if it was a one time deal? I meant to get on earlier this year and grab it and everything, but I wasn't really playing any more and they had nerfed so much poo poo that I was kind of bored of it all, so I never did grab any of that.

Also, as per weapon discussion and those "best in slot" recommendations, is that just for PvP or just for everything? The stat bars don't make much sense in game, so I guess I'll stick with the recommendations upthread.

They're generally the best to use for any purpose within their class.

There are occasions where a lesser weapon is good for certain small situations, like even when you have a heavy sniper it can still be useful to keep a silenced regular sniper for some occasions.
