And yeah, on the off chance he somehow comes across this thread: this project and Recettear was the beginning, at least from my point of view, of getting Japanese games/JRPG's on the PC/Steam. At the very least it was on the frontier. It's been a really exciting and fun time to be a fan of this stuff, and I do want to thank him for taking the lead that he has and hope sincerely that he has found some peace. Didn't see any beat poetry, but yeah, if you've ever honestly considered them, the suicide thoughts never ever leave you for good. The struggle just lessens, sometimes. Good for the Drake to be able to put this all down, and out there into the public. Takes quite a bit. I hope it helps. And i hope it gets us more Falcom.

Along with XanaduNext.com, there's CorpsePartyBloodDrive.com, TrailsOfColdSteel.com and LordOfMagma.com.  The current thinking is that Lord of Magna would be localised name for Forbidden Magna, and that Trails of Cold Steel is the localised name for Sen no Kiseki.

Localizing Sen before the Crosbell games wouldn't make sense, and those probably won't happen for quite a while (see here, read from the bottom up). Also there's still Sora no Kiseki The Third before either of those games.

Sen shows the events of Ao from the perspective of the Empire, so while it could technically work, it would basically spoil Ao. But if they're not planning to translate those anyway...sure, why not?

It controls somewhat similarly to Diablo 1 if you use a mouse/keyboard. It also has gamepad support which makes it play more like a slower Ys game. That's about where the similarities to Diablo end though because the world is not randomly generated (outside of a bonus dungeon but that barely qualifies), enemies have fixed drops, and equipment has fixed stats. It is an incredibly fun game though and all Falcom fans should play it. Don't hesitate to try out both mouse/keyboard and gamepad to see which suits you better.

This is why they localized Sen games in Chinese and Korean after all. It's a new Arc, newer console tech, and they can just do some background shot ala Yakuza or Xenosaga of its needed. Otherwise they will never catch up and series will die on the West. Slow localizations and SC just coming out this year isn't going to cut it. This way they could produce 2 games over 2015 and 2016, and be almost caught up when 3rd game releases. Plus they can build up the audience more in the West. Ideally they would port the games to PS4/PC as well, but that won't happen.

I've never played a TiTS game until a friend of mine bought Trails in the Sky (first chapter?) for me on steam. Spoilers below for people who are new to the game - no seriously, don't click those spoilers unless you've actually beat the game. I just finished the game, and I have to say - a) didn't see that ending coming. Not even remotely. b) alba what the gently caress c) JOSHUA WHAT THE gently caress DUDE, NO, DON'T DO THAT d) YOU MOTHERFUCKER e) When's Second Chapter out?
