It's not a direct reference to anything. Just supposed to look super 90's (I followed the artist's progress for this design).

Regarding the shirts, I'm also tired of black T-shirts. I try to avoid it, but so many of my designs just happened to look best against black, or parodied existing designs with black backgrounds (Metroidvania/Metallica, the SaveKill/God Save The Queen). For SGDQ I want to do something brighter.

I actually did two mockups for Save or Kill, since there's two styles of God Save The Queen shirts:

The Yetee liked the one on the right better. I like white shirts myself, but they like to stay away from them because they sell so poorly.

I prefer the white as well, but amazing shirt anyways.

The glitch run of zelda II was pretty interesting. sucks about the ending though.

This is a sponsor of the event that has supplied them with a video to play periodically. It comes out like 6 times a day and is a minute long and it makes certain people super mad like crazy people.

That ad is something they run on the stream for their sponsor.

Most of them are fairly garbage but funnily enough the Speedrunners game they keep plugging is actually a lot of fun.

I tend to find them less interesting unless they are insanely close. I think the DKR run soured me on races for this week (the gooftroop race was good though).

edit; at least it's a 30-odd minute race.

There's twitch ads which they get revenue from, and then there's sponsor ads which are just being run because sponsors.
And then there's the incredibly forced scripted turtlebeach (And another one?) bits by the announcers which would be infinitely more natural if they just said "And thanks to Turtlebeach for providing us with [thing], it's great!" like they do with some of the others while still fufilling the plug quota.

I don't mind the instream ad, it's not that annoying. The spoken plugs though are truly awful. Boring, repetitive and usually read by people who seem unable to pronounce basic English.
